Yogendra Puranik
Yogendra Puranik ( ja, プラニク ヨゲンドラ ''Puraniku Yogendora'', mr, पुराणिक योगेंद्र; born 3 June 1977), commonly referred to as Yogi, is an Indian-born Japanese politician and the first person of Indian origin to win an election in Japan. He was elected to the Tokyo's Edogawa City assembly as City Councillor in April 2019. He was supported by the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan. In April 2022, Yogi was appointed as the Principal of https://www.tsuchiura1-h.ibk.ed.jp/ in Ibraraki prefecture, thus making him the first-ever foreign-origin principal of a public (government) school in Japan, and first-ever Indian-origin Civil/Gazetted officer in Japan. Edogawa, Tokyo
is a special ward located in Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. It takes its name from the Edo River that runs from north to south along the eastern edge of the ward. In English, it uses the name Edogawa City. The easternmost of the wards, it shares boundaries with the cities of Urayasu and Ichikawa in Chiba Prefecture (to the east) and with the wards of Katsushika (to the north), Sumida and Kōtō (to the west). 2021 Tokyo Prefectural Election
Prefectural elections for the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly (令和3年/2021年東京都議会議員選挙, ''Reiwa 3-nen/2021-nen Tōkyō togikai giin senkyo'', "Reiwa 3/2021 election of members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly") were held on 4 July 2021. The 127 members were elected in forty-two electoral districts, seven returning single members elected by first-past-the-post, and thirty-five returning multiple members under single non-transferable vote. Two districts had their magnitude adjusted in this election to match population changes. The results of the election saw the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) winning the most seats, displacing the regional party Tomin First no Kai to become the largest party in the Assembly. The is the Prefectures of Japan, prefectural parliament of Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolis.
