Yoana Palacio
Yoana Palacio Mahmudova born 6 October 1990) is a Cuban-born Azerbaijani female volleyball player. She was part of the Cuba women's national volleyball team at the 2010 FIVB World Championship in Japan. She won the silver medal in the 2011 Pan American Games being selected Best Spiker and Most Valuable Player and twice won the bronze medal in the NORCECA Continental Championship, in 2009 and 2011. She won three time the Cuban National League with the team from Ciudad Havana, Capitalinas from 2009 to 2011 and the Azerbaijani League with Rabita Baku in the 2014/15 season. Career 2008-2009 Palacio won the bronze medal in the 2008 Cuban National Games when her team, Centrales, won 3-0 to Venezuela. She led the Cuban Junior national team to the 2008 NORCECA Continental Championship bronze medal. 2013 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup
The 2013 Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the twelfth edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament, played by twelve countries over June, 2013 in Lima, Callao, Iquitos, Huacho, in Peru. Team USA defeated 3–0 to the Dominican Republic in the gold medal match, Argentina took the bronze over Brazil. Yanelis Santos
Yanelis Santos Allegne (born 30 March 1986, in Ciego de Ávila) is a volleyball player from Cuba, who represents the women's national team as a setter/opposite in the international team competition since 2002. Santos was named "Best Server" at the 2007 FIVB World Cup and the 2008 Summer Olympics. Career Santos started playing volleyball as a twelve year old in 1998, then joined the Senior national team in 2001. Santos played with her national team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Even though they had previously defeated the US 3-0, this time they lost 0-3, falling to their nerves and own mistakes. They lost the bronze medal match to China, 1-3. Santos was named the tournament's "Best Server". Santos led the Cuban national team to the silver medal during the 2011 Montreux Volley Masters. Wilfredo León
Wilfredo León Venero (born 31 July 1993) is a Cuban–Polish professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Cuba national team from 2007 to 2012, and is a current member of the Poland national team and Sir Safety Perugia. A silver medallist at the 2010 World Championship, and a two–time NORCECA Champion (2009, 2011). Considered by many as one of a kind, he led Cuba to the silver medal at the 2010 World Championship held in Italy, alongside Yoandy Leal and Robertlandy Simon. Yarelys Barrios Castañeda (also ''Yarelis Barrios Castañeda''; born July 12, 1983, in Pinar del Río) is a discus thrower from Cuba. Career She won the ''Diamond Race'' in the women's discus throw of the IAAF Diamond League both in 2010 and in 2011. She won the 2012 Cuban National Championships with a personal best throw of 68.03 metres. Barrios finished the Olympic discus competition in 2008 in the second place, but was disqualified by the IOC on September 1, 2016, because of doping due to a sample reanalysis which resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance Acetazolamide.
