Yiannis Andrianopoulos
Giannis Andrianopoulos (Greek: Γιάννης Ανδριανόπουλος; 1900 – 6 November 1952) was a Greek footballer and one of the founding members of Greece's most successful football club, Olympiacos CFP. Club career Born in Piraeus, Greece, Andrianopoulos began his career at the age of 18, playing for home town club Peiraikos Syndesmos FC. Here Yiannis earned his first taste of success, winning an unofficial Greek Championship in 1923. Peiraikos Syndesmos FC merged with Peiraiki Enosis FC in January 1924 and the Athletic and Football Club of Piraeus was formed. John Constantine Carras (; 1907– 1989) was a Greek shipping magnate, grandson of captain and sailing-ship owner Ioannis I. Carras from Kardamyla of Chios. Early life John Carras studied economics in Lausanne and subsequently became a principal in the London office of Angelos Lusi CBE. Career After the Second World War John Carras received one of the 100 Liberty vessels allotted by the US to Greece. The company A. Lusi Ltd. was renamed to J.C. Yiannis Eitziridis
Iovan Tsaous ( el, Γιοβάν Τσαούς, from the Turkish word ''çavuş'', meaning "sergeant") (1893–1942), was a Greek musician and composer of rebetiko songs from Pontus. His real name was Yiannis Eitziridis or Etseiridis (Γιάννης Εϊτζιρίδης or Ετσειρίδης). Biography Tsaous was born in 1893 in Kastamonu on Turkey's Black Sea coast. As a citizen of the Ottoman Empire, he completed his military service in the Ottoman army, attaining the rank of sergeant. After the Greco-Turkish War (1919–1922), he came to Greece as a refugee and settled in Piraeus. He worked initially as a tailor for some years, before opening an ouzeri. He and his wife died in 1942 of food poisoning during the famine caused by the Nazi-Fascist occupation during WWII. Much of the information on his life comes from descendants of his sister-in-law. Yannis Brown is an Australian composer and sound designer for portable devices and consoles. He grew up in Adelaide, Australia. He began playing keyboards by ear at the age of 4 and started composing music around the age of 13. He then moved on to writing MOD tracker formats on the Commodore Amiga since 1989 and later IBM PC around 1993. Jani Christou ( el, Γιάννης Χρήστου, Giánnīs Chrī́stou; 8 or 9 January 1926 – 8 January 1970) was a Greek composer. There is some disagreement about Christou's birth, the date of which is given by some authorities as 8 January; while others state 9 January. Most sources agree that he was born in Heliopolis, Egypt, though one states he was born in Alexandria, and it has recently been reported that a birth certificate has been found stating that the composer was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, though this certificate is suspected of being a forgery.
