''Yesterday Is Time Killed'' is the debut studio album by Eighteen Visions. It was released in early 1999 through Cedargate Records. Five songs were later re-recorded for the band's third album, ''The Best of Eighteen Visions''. The last untitled song is actually split into 8 tracks, for each "part" of the song. Eighteen Visions
Eighteen Visions is an American metalcore band from Orange County, California, formed in October 1995. The band broke up in April 2007, less than a year after their major label debut was released through Epic and Trustkill Records. After over a decade of absence, the band reformed in 2017. They announced their sixth album, '' XVIII'', would be released via their new label home at Rise Records. History Beginnings (1995–2000) Eighteen Visions was founded in October 1995 by James Hart, Dave Peters, Billy Sisler, and Kenneth Floyd under the name "Macabre". The band wrote a bit of material and started to play shows, beginning at the "Koo's Cafe" in early 1996, in their local area. Soon after, Excessive Force's Jeff Boullt was added to the mix as a second guitarist, and in March, Sisler left the group and was replaced by Richie Taylor. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Deathcore
Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. While there are some precursors to the concept of death metal fused with metalcore/hardcore elements seen in the 1990s, deathcore itself emerged in the early 2000s and gained prominence beginning in the mid-2000s within the southwestern United States, especially Arizona and inland southern California (mostly the Coachella Valley), which are home to many notable bands and various festivals. ''The Best of Eighteen Visions'' is the third full-length album by metalcore band Eighteen Visions. Despite its title, it is not a compilation of previously-released material; all of the material was newly recorded especially for this release. Its title hints to the fact that for this release, the band chose the ''best'' material from their prior out-of-print releases and re-recorded these songs to create a new album. It also includes the newly-written song "Motionless and White". Two songs were re-recorded from their debut EP ''Lifeless'': "Slipping Through the Hands of God" and "Life's Blood". James Hart (vocalist)
James Hart (born August 26, 1979) is an American vocalist, best known as the frontman and founding member of the metalcore band Eighteen Visions. He is also a founding member of the band Burn Halo, in which played since its inception in 2007 until 2016. Early life Hart was born on August 26, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois. His family moved to California when he was 6. Growing up, he played baseball and football a lot. He considers himself a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. His parents separated and divorced when he was 11, with his father moving away back to Chicago. In 2017, Hart said that both of his parents had been struggling with alcohol at that time, which, in his opinion, ruined their marriage and chance for a happy family life. He also cited that as a major driving force behind his abstinence from alcohol and drugs from a very young age. Brandan Schieppati
Brandan Schieppati (born August 3, 1980) is an American musician. He is the singer of metalcore band Bleeding Through and a former guitarist/songwriter of the fellow Orange County metalcore band Eighteen Visions, for which he played from 1997 to 2002. He is also a bodybuilder, personal trainer and "Rise Above Fitness" gym owner. He was strictly straight edge from an early age until his late twenties. Career Schieppati has been in Eighteen Visions, Throwdown, Bleeding Through, The Mistake and Die Die My Darling, a Misfits cover band from which nothing has been released. He formed a band—the Innocent—along with Brooks Wackerman, Ryan Sinn and Dave Nassie. Schieppati is also the vocalist for a side project, Suffer Well, with Mick Kenney and Trevor Friedrich on drums. Ken Floyd is an American musician mostly known from his time in the hardcore band Eighteen Visions which he founded in 1995 as the drummer, and became second guitarist in 2004. He is currently the tour manager for EDM artist Zedd. He has also played drums for several tours with the band Throwdown. From 1996 to 1998 he was in Swingset in June, which released a compilation on Prime Directive Records, and was in First Day Somber before. He turned down the Eighteen Visions reunion in 2017 to continue to tour as a manager for EDM Artist ZEDD. He did visit the studio during the making of the 2017 reunion album ''XVIII''.
