The Yendegaia River originates from the terminus of Stoppani Glacier in Cordillera Darwin located at southwestern Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. It is part of Yendegaia National Park. Yendegaia Bay
Yendegaia Bay is a bay in the Beagle Channel, in the southern coast of the Chilean part of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. The bay is at the mouth of Yendegaia River and the only settlement on its shores is Caleta Ferrari. In 1998 the land around Yendegaia Bay was purchased by the Conservation Land Trust, a U.S.-based charity led by Douglas Tompkins. It is possible to trek from the bay to the Stoppani Glacier. Beagle Channel
Beagle Channel (; Yahgan: ''Onašaga'') is a strait in the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago, on the extreme southern tip of South America between Chile and Argentina. The channel separates the larger main island of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego from various smaller islands including the islands of Picton, Lennox and Nueva; Navarino; Hoste; Londonderry; and Stewart. The channel's eastern area forms part of the border between Chile and Argentina and the western area is entirely within Chile. The Beagle Channel, the Straits of Magellan to the north, and the open-ocean Drake Passage to the south are the three navigable passages around South America between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Glacier Terminus
A glacier terminus, toe, or snout, is the end of a glacier at any given point in time. Although glaciers seem motionless to the observer, in reality glaciers are in endless motion and the glacier terminus is always either advancing or retreating. The location of the terminus is often directly related to glacier mass balance, which is based on the amount of snowfall which occurs in the accumulation zone of a glacier, as compared to the amount that is melted in the ablation zone. Yendegaia National Park
Yendegaia National Park is in Tierra del Fuego in the Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena Region of Chile and contains of mountainous terrain and Valdivian temperate rain forest. It borders the Alberto de Agostini National Park and Tierra del Fuego National Park. Origin Yendegaia National Park is the result of public-private collaboration between the Government of Chile and the Yendegaia Foundation, a branch of the conservation project run by Douglas and Kris Tompkins. The park was first conceived in 2011 and was one of many projects created to celebrate the Bicentennial of Chile. It is made up of of state owned land and of the privately owned Estancia Yendegaia, which used to belong to the Tompkins' foundation of the same name, that gave the lands to the State of Chile in 2013 to create the National Park.
