''Ye'nze'' is the debut studio album recorded by Ugandan soul-jazz musician Sandra Nankoma. The album was produced by artist Kaz Kasozi and recorded at Little Room Studio in Kampala, Uganda and mastered in Paris, France, by David Felgeirolles. The album was released on 22 February 2018 as a digital download in France where she had been in a three month residency (August – October, 2017) after she had won the music award ''Visa Pour La Creation'' by Institute Francaise France and on CD on 11 March 2018 at a press listening session held by Fezah App at Design Hub in Kampala. Content The album has a track listing of 10 songs,a poem interlude and an outro poem ''Paris Monster''. The album presents themes about love, the daily struggles of survival, materialism, stigma against dark-skinned women, and poor political leadership in Uganda. Sandra Nankoma
Sandra Nankoma, previously known as Sandy Soul, is a Ugandan recording artist, singer-songwriter, composer, actor and performer of Afro-soul and jazz music . She is well known for her single Kaddugala from her debut album Ye'nze for which she won an award for Best Female Artist in African Inspirational Music at AFRIMA Awards in 2018 . Career Nankoma started performing music professionally in 2013. She performed at the Bayimba Festival of the Arts, following her collaboration with Sylvester Kabombo on hip hop song, "Fumbiro". After her first single, ''Season'' she has since recorded a number of other songs, including: ''Kaddugala'', ''Musaiza'' ''Wei'ka'', ''Babylon'', and ''Mercedes'' (featured on RNW ‘s My Song program on YouTube). Soul Jazz
Soul jazz or funky jazz is a subgenre of jazz that incorporates strong influences from hard bop, blues, soul, gospel and rhythm and blues. Sound recording and reproduction is the electrical, mechanical, electronic, or digital inscription and re-creation of sound waves, such as spoken voice, singing, instrumental music, or sound effects. The two main classes of sound recording technology are analog recording and digital recording.
