Yaziji, alternatively Yazigi or Yazji ( ar, يازجي , ) is an Arabic surname of Turkish origin, meaning 'clerk' or 'writer'. Ibrahim Al-Yaziji
Ibrahim al-Yaziji (Arabic ابراهيم اليازجي, ''Ibrahim al-Yāzijī''; 1847–1906) was an Arab Christianity in Lebanon, Christian philosopher, philologist, poet and journalist. He belonged to the Greek Catholic population of the Mutasarrifate of Mount Lebanon. Biography He was born in 1847 to a family originally from Homs. He was an editor of several newspapers and magazines, such as ''Nagah'' and ''At-Tabib''. Al Yaziji founded ''Ad-Diya'' magazine which was published between 1898 and 1906 in Cairo. He was instructed by Jesuits to translate the Bible into Arabic. The translation, which took place from 1876 to 1880, was published and said to be linguistically richer than the first translation of the Protestants. It was the second Bible translation in the Arabic language. Nasif Al-Yaziji
Nāṣīf bin ʻAbd Allāh bin Nāṣīf bin Janbulāṭ bin Saʻd al-Yāzijī (; March 25, 1800 – February 8, 1871) was a Lebanese author at the times of the Ottoman Empire and father of Ibrahim al-Yaziji. He was one of the leading figures in the Nahda movement. Like several of the principal players of the Arab Awakening (Nahda), Nasif al-Yaziji migrated from a Mount Lebanon ravaged by discord and revolt, to Beirut at a time when the city was undergoing rapid development and establishing itself as a centre of academia and journalism. Zina Yazji
Zeina Yazigi ( ar, زينة يازجي) is a Syrian journalist, news agency reporter and television news anchor. She is now a news anchor at Asharq News. Career Yazigi was born on 2 April 1975 in Latakia. Her father was a doctor and her mother had studied at the Sorbonne in Paris. Yazigi earned a BA in English Literature from Tishreen University in Latakia, and a degree in media from the Lebanese American University. She started working for Reuters and then for the Associated Press in its Beirut bureau. Then, she became a reporter for CNBC in Syria.
