Yaw Osafo-Marfo
Yaw Osafo-Maafo is a Ghanaian politician who was appointed in April as the senior presidential advisor to the Akufo-Addo Administration 2021. He was Senior Minister of the Republic of Ghana in the Akufo-Addo Administration from 2017 to 2021. He was Member of Parliament for Akim Oda from 1997 to 2009, and previously served as Finance Minister and in other cabinet roles in the Kufuor Administration between 2001 and 2009. Early life Yaw Osafo-Maafo was born in Akyem Awisa in 1936. He attended Akyem Awisa Presbyterian School and Achimota School. He went on to study Mechanical Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. At KNUST he was the Vice President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS). Akim Oda (Ghana Parliament Constituency)
Alexander Akwasi Acquah is the member of parliament for the Akim Oda constituency in Ghana's 8th parliament under the fourth republic. The first time MP was elected on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). With a majority of 25,380 votes out of the 31,943 total votes cast (which represents 79.45%), he defeated his opponents and won the seat as the 5th MP for the Constituency. He succeeded William Quaitoo who represented the constituency for eight (8) years from 2012 to 2020 on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Paul Edgar Philippe Martin (born August 28, 1938), also known as Paul Martin Jr., is a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the 21st prime minister of Canada and the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada from 2003 to 2006. The son of former secretary of state for external affairs Paul Martin Sr., Martin was a lawyer from Ontario before he became president and the chief executive officer of Canada Steamship Lines in 1973. The Asante, also known as Ashanti () are part of the Akan ethnic group and are native to the Ashanti Region of modern-day Ghana. Gonja People
Gonja (also Ghanjawiyyu, endonym Ngbanya) was a kingdom in northern Ghana founded in 1675 by Sumaila Ndewura Jakpa. The word can also refer to the people of this kingdom. Origin The Gonja are a Guan people who have been influenced by Dagbon, Akan, Mande and Hausa people. With the fall of the Songhai Empire (c. 1600), the Mande Ngbanya clan moved south, crossing the Black Volta and founding a city at Yagbum. The Gonja kingdom was originally divided into sections overseen by male siblings of Sumaila Ndewura Jakpa including their children and grandchildren. Under the leadership of Naba'a, the Ngbanya dynasty of Gonja was founded. The capital was established at Yagbum.
