Yavorivskyi National Park
Yavorivskyi National Park is located in the Ukrainian Roztocze, one of the most interesting physiographic regions of Western Ukraine. Ukrainian Roztocze is a narrow (average ) range of hills long, which rises sharply to the north of the Lesser Polissya. In the southeastern part of it the main European watershed, on the slopes of which originate rivers belonging to the basins of two seas - the Black Sea and the Baltic. History The park was established July 4, 1998, by the President of Ukraine on the base of ''Yavorivskyi Regional Landscape Park'' (which existed here since 1996 in the area of ) and surrounding areas of Yavoriv military base and Maherivskoho forestry enterprises. The total area of the national park is , of which park provided for permanent use, and incorporated into its structure without removal from the land. Roztocze
Roztocze ( uk, Розточчя, ''Roztochia'') is a range of hills in east-central Poland and western Ukraine which rises from the Lublin Upland and extends southeastward through Solska Forest and across the border into Ukrainian Podolia. Low and rolling, the range is approximately 180 km long and 14 km wide. Its highest peak within Poland is Wielki Dział at 390 meters, while in Ukraine it is Vysokyi Zamok (Lviv High Castle) at 409 m. In Poland Roztocze lies in the Lublin and Podkarpackie voivodships, while the portion in Ukraine extends all the way to the outskirts of Lviv. In 2011 UNESCO established the Roztochya Biosphere Reserve. The Polish portion of the range makes up the Roztocze National Park. Yavoriv Military Base
The Yavoriv military base is a military training facility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Yavoriv in western Ukraine, some 10 km from the border with Poland and 30 kilometers northwest of Lviv in Yavoriv district. The facility houses an International Center for Peacekeeping and Security within the framework of the Ukraine–NATO Partnership for Peace program and the National Military Academy Hetman Petro Sahaidatschnyj. The base covers an area of around 390 sq km (151 sq miles) and can accommodate up to 1,790 people.
