A moshav ( he, מוֹשָׁב, plural ', lit. ''settlement, village'') is a type of Israeli town or settlement, in particular a type of cooperative agricultural community of individual farms pioneered by the Labour Zionists between 1904 and 1914, during what is known as the second wave of ''aliyah''. A resident or a member of a moshav can be called a "moshavnik" (). The moshavim are similar to kibbutzim with an emphasis on community labour. They were designed as part of the Zionist state-building programme following the green revolution Yishuv ("settlement") in the British Mandate of Palestine during the early 20th century, but in contrast to the collective farming kibbutzim, farms in a moshav tended to be individually owned but of fixed and equal size. Jaljulia ( ar, جلجولية, he, גַ׳לְג׳וּלְיָה), officially also spelled Jaljulye, is an Arab town in Israel near Kfar Saba. In it had a population of . History In Roman times the village was known as ''Galgulis'', while during the Crusader period it was referred to as ''Jorgilia'' in 1241 C.E. It has been suggested that a Crusader sugar factory was later turned into an Ottoman mosque. In 1265 C.E. (663 H) Sultan Baybars allocated equal shares of the village to three of his amirs. Nirit ( he, נִירִית) is a community settlement in central Israel. Located near Matan and the Horshim forest, it falls under the jurisdiction of Drom HaSharon Regional Council. In it had a population of . Etymology Nirit was founded on January 19, 1982 Nirit and was named after an indigenous plant, Ridolfia segetum, growing nearby. It expanded twice, once in 1986–1988 and again in 2000. Until 1986 there were only 15 families in temporary buildings, and nowadays it grew to about 240 families. Demobilization or demobilisation (see spelling differences) is the process of standing down a nation's armed forces from combat-ready status.
