Yarah Bravo
Yarah Bravo is a singer-songwriter, rapper, poet, beatmaker. Born to a Chilean mother and a Brazilian father, who came to Sweden as political refugees. She sings and raps in English, Swedish and Spanish. She is most known for the song Bluebird with the group One Self and for her EPs ''Love Is The Movement'' and ''Good Girls Rarely Make History''. Bravo was one of the MC's of the group One Self. Their debut album ''Children of Possibility'' was released on the record label Ninja Tune. Early days Yarah Bravo started writing as a young teenager, as a way to handle her parents' breakup. She formed her first group at 16 years old: it was an all-girl group called B.o.B. Hip Hop Kemp
The hip hop subculture in the Czech Republic emerged after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. Since then the subculture has become an influential urban phenomenon, with hip hop groups, clubs and festivals appearing across the country. Notable hip hop artists from the Czech Republic include Chaozz, Gipsy.cz, Naše Věc and Prago Union. Festivals Hip Hop Kemp is an international hip hop festival held every year in late August in Eastern Bohemia. It has been running since 2002, and is one of the biggest hip-hop festivals in Europe with an audience of 20,000. Originally staged at the areál koupaliště Cihelna in Pardubice, it has since moved to Festival Park, Hradec Králové. The festival has multiple stages, and features a line up of local and international DJs, artists, breakdancers and graffiti artists over three days. Rodney P
Rodney Panton, also known as Rodney P (born in Balham, London, 12 December 1969) is an English MC, as well as a radio and television personality who first gained attention via the UK hip hop scene in the 1980s. A former member of UK hip-hop group London Posse, Rodney P is known for rapping in his London accent. Career Music In 1986, London Posse were invited by Mick Jones of The Clash to support his new band Big Audio Dynamite on a UK tour. A recording contract with Big Life Records followed, and the recording of the songs "Live Like The Other Half" and "Money Mad", which appeared on the group's only album, Gangsta Chronicle. The Nextmen
The Nextmen is a UK production/songwriting/DJ duo consisting of Dom Search (a.k.a. Dominic Betmead) and Brad Baloo (a.k.a. Brad Ellis). Often incorporating hip hop, drum & bass, dub, pop, soul and various other eclectic electronic and indie genres into their sounds, they have worked with many artists from the UK and US. Musical career The Nextmen have been remixers since 2000 working with Public Enemy, the Pharcyde, Blackalicious, Jeru the Damaja, Groove Armada, the Kooks, Fat Freddy's Drop, Rae & Christian, and many more. Edwin Maximilian "Eddie" Hayes, Jr. (born September 30, 1970), better known by his stage name Aceyalone, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California, United States. He is a member of Freestyle Fellowship, Haiku D'Etat and The A-Team. He is also a co-founder of Project Blowed. Aaron Pointer, better known by his stage name Abstract Rude, is a rapper from Los Angeles, California. He is the MC of Abstract Tribe Unique, alongside dancers Zulu Butterfly and Irie Lion King, turntablist DJ Drez and producer Fat Jack. Michael Lafayette Troy (born January 15, 1969), better known by his stage name Myka 9, is a rapper from Los Angeles, California. He is a member of Freestyle Fellowship, Haiku d'Etat and Magic Heart Genies. Known for years as Mikah Nine, he changed the spelling to Myka Nyne with the release of ''A Work in Progress'' in 2003. Fat Freddys Drop
Fat Freddy's Drop is a New Zealand seven-piece band from Wellington, whose musical style has been characterised as any combination of dub, reggae, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, and techno. Originally a jam band formed in the late 1990s by musicians from other bands in Wellington, Fat Freddy's Drop gradually became its members' sole focus. Band members continued playing with their other respective groups—The Black Seeds, TrinityRoots, Bongmaster, and others—for much of their 20-year career. Fat Freddy's Drop are known for their improvised live performances. Songs on their studio albums are versions refined over years of playing them live in New Zealand and on tour abroad. Syster Sol
Isabel Sandblom (born 25 January 1983), known professionally as Syster Sol, is a Swedish reggae singer, songwriter, and deejay. She has a background as the founder and lead singer of the reggae band Livelihood. In 2008, she established herself as one of the first women solo singers in the reggae music scene in Sweden. Career Sandblom was born in Sollentuna and took the performance name Syster Sol (English: Sister Sun) during her early years. As part of the reggae band Livelihood she released two albums, ''Escapizm'' (2006) and ''Sagans sånger'' (2007). The band dissolved in 2008, and she launched her solo career. Her personal lyrics often refer to how young women in today's society have to be tough to get attention and respect.
