Shang Yang (; c. 390 – 338 BC), also known as Wei Yang () and originally surnamed Gongsun, was a Chinese jurist, philosopher, and politician.Antonio S. Yang Longyan () (897 – June 17, 920), né Yang Ying (), also known as Yang Wei (), courtesy name Hongyuan (), formally King Xuan of Wu (), later further posthumously honored Emperor Xuan of Wu () with the temple name of Gaozu (), was a king of the Chinese Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period state Wu (also known as Hongnong). Yang Wei (; born February 16, 1954) is a Chinese mechanical engineer. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as President of Zhejiang University from August 2002 to February 2013. Biography Yang was born in Beijing in February 1954, the son of chemical engineer Yang Guanghua. Yang studied at the Department of Material and Heat Engineering of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and graduated in 1976. In 1981, Yang received M.Eng from the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Tsinghua University. Yang obtained his PhD from Brown University in United States in 1984. Yang Wei (; born May 1963) is a Chinese aerospace engineer and aircraft designer. He is a vice president of the China Association for Science and Technology (中国科学技术协会) and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (中国科学院), class of 2017. Wei Yang (; born 1963) is a Chinese-American structural biologist. She is a distinguished investigator at the National Institutes of Health and was elected a member of the US National Academy of Sciences in 2013. Yang Wei (; born 13 January 1979) is a Chinese former badminton player who affiliate with Guangdong provincial team. Career A woman's doubles specialist, Yang has won some forty international titles, most of them in the sport's top tier events, since 1998. Prior to 2003 she partnered Huang Nanyan with whom she earned a silver medal at the Badminton at the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 Sydney Olympics and gained the winning point against Korea national badminton team, South Korea in the 2002 Uber Cup (women's world team championship) final. Yang Wei (; born February 8, 1980, in Xiantao, Hubei) is a male gymnast from China. Career Yang Wei won the silver medal in the individual all-around competition and won the gold in the team event at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. In 2003, he again won the gold in the team event and silver in the all-around competition at the 2003 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Anaheim. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, his world championship winning team finished fifth after many of them fell. Wei was also the favorite to win the gold medal at the Individual All-Around in Athens as well, but a fall from the high bar earned him a low score of 8.975 and put him out of medal contention.
