Yana Vorona
Yana Gennadyevna Vorona (sometimes transliterated Iana) (russian: Яна Геннадьевна Ворона, born 28 December 2004) is a Russian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the team who won gold at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival and was the alternate for the team who won gold at the inaugural Junior World Championships. Early life Yana Vorona was born in Voronezh, Russia in 2004. Gymnastics career Junior 2017–18 Vorona competed at the 2017 Russian National Championships in April in the KMS division. She placed fifth in the all-around behind Olga Astafyeva, Irina Komnova, Elena Gerasimova, and Vladislava Urazova. During event finals she placed fourth on the vault and seventh on balance beam. Maria Vyacheslavovna Minaeva (russian: Мария Вячеславовна Минаева, born 19 April 2005) is a Russian artistic gymnast and member of the Russian national gymnastics team. Early life Maria was born in Zelenodolsk, Russia in 2005. She currently represents the Volga Federal District. 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Kitakyushu, Japan from October 18–24, 2021. The competition took place at the Kitakyushu City General Gymnasium. It was the third time that Japan hosted the event, following the 1995 and 2011 editions. The competition was originally scheduled to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, before the Danish Gymnastics Federation withdrew from hosting in July 2020. In November 2020, the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique announced Kitakyushu as the replacement host city for the same dates. Although the World Championships are traditionally not held in Olympic years, the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics caused the 2021 event to fall during the same year. The 2021 Russian Cup was held in Novosibirsk, Russia between 6 and 12 June 2021. Medalists Olympic team selection After the conclusion of the competition the teams and individuals were selected to represent Russian Olympic Committee athletes at the 2020 Summer Olympics. For the men Nikita Nagornyy, David Belyavskiy, Aleksandr Kartsev, and Artur Dalaloyan were named to the four person team with Vladislav Poliashov and Denis Ablyazin selected to compete as individuals.
