Yana Demyanchuk
Yana Vladimirovna Demyanchuk ( uk, Яна Дем'янчук, born 1993) is a Ukrainian artistic gymnast who won gold on the balance beam at the 2009 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Early life and training Demyanchuk started gymnastics at 6 years of age. Initially, she trained in Ivano-Frankivsk, and later at the Republic Higher School of Physical Education in Kyiv. Gymnastics career 2007–08 Demyanchuk began her senior career in 2007 at a tri-country meet between Ukraine, Germany, and Catalonia. On vault, she competed a Yurchenko layout. On floor exercise, her tumbling passes were a double pike, a layout double twist, a front one-and-a-half twist to front layout, and a front handspring through to a layout full twist. Yurchenko (vault)
Yurchenko, also known as round-off entry vaults, are a family of vaults performed in artistic gymnastics in which the gymnast does a round-off onto the springboard and a back handspring onto the horse or vaulting table. The gymnast then performs a salto, which may range in difficulty from a simple single tuck to a triple twist layout. Different variations in the difficulty of the salto lead to higher D-scores. This family of vaults is the most common type of vault in gymnastics and its named after Natalia Yurchenko, who first performed it in 1982. Background and history The Yurchenko vault family is named after Natalia Vladimirovna Yurchenko, a gymnast who trained under Vladislav Rastorotski. Dariya Yaroslavivna Zgoba ( uk, Дарина Ярославівна Згоба born 7 November 1989) is a Ukrainian retired artistic gymnast. She is the 2007 European champion and the 2005 and 2008 European bronze medalist on the uneven bars. She is the 2007 Summer Universiade uneven bars champion and team silver medalist and the 2009 Summer Universiade balance beam bronze medalist.
