Yan Aung
Yan Aung ( my, ရန်အောင်; born 14 December 1966) is a Burmese film actor. He has won 6 Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards throughout his career, including in 1991, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2006, second only to Nyunt Win. Yan Aung was born Hla Htun (လှထွန်း) in Rangoon, Burma (now Yangon, Myanmar) to parents Tin Maung and Thein Thein. He currently participates as a judge on '' Myanmar Idol''. Rangoon
Yangon ( my, ရန်ကုန်; ; ), formerly spelled as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and the largest city of Myanmar (also known as Burma). Yangon served as the capital of Myanmar until 2006, when the military government relocated the administrative functions to the purpose-built capital city of Naypyidaw in north central Myanmar. 2021–2022 Myanmar Protests
Protests in Myanmar, known locally as the Spring Revolution ( my, နွေဦးတော်လှန်ရေး, ), began in early 2021 in opposition to the coup d'état on 1February, staged by Min Aung Hlaing, the commander-in-chief of the country's armed forces, the Tatmadaw. , at least 2000 protesters have been killed, 14,000 currently arrested and 700,000 displaced by the junta. The State Administration Council ( my, နိုင်ငံတော်စီမံအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးကောင်စီ; abbreviated SAC or နစက) is the military junta currently governing Myanmar, established by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing following the February 2021 coup d'état. The Council is chaired by Min Aung Hlaing. It has formed a provisional administration, also led by Min Aung Hlaing as Prime Minister of Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi
Aung San Suu Kyi (; ; born 19 June 1945) is a Burmese politician, diplomat, author, and a 1991 Nobel Peace Prize laureate who served as State Counsellor of Myanmar (equivalent to a prime minister) and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2021. She has served as the chairperson of the National League for Democracy (NLD) since 2011, having been the general secretary from 1988 to 2011. A coup d'état in Myanmar began on the morning of 1 February 2021, when democratically elected members of the country's ruling party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), were deposed by the Tatmadaw—Myanmar's military—which then vested power in a military junta.
