Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. Historically, it is one of the spoken languages of the Israelites and their longest-surviving descendants, the Jews and Samaritans. He was the Israeli Men's Champion in the 800 metres in 1960, 1964–65, and 1967–69, and in the 1500 metres in 1961-62 and 1964-66. He was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and is Jewish. Yahir Othón Parra (born 21 March 1979), simply known as Yahir, is a Mexican singer and actor from Hermosillo, Sonora. He began his career as one of the participants in the music reality show ''La Academia'' in 2002 and in addition to Yuridia, also from Hermosillo, is one of the most popular stars to come from the show. He became a judge of the show's tenth season. Personal life Yahir's mother converted from Roman Catholicism to Jehovah's Witnesses, and although he was brought up in his mother's faith he no longer practices it. Yair Tzaban ( he, יאיר צבן, born 23 August 1930) is an Israeli politician, academic and social activist. Biography Tzaban was born in Jerusalem in 1930. During the 1948 Palestine War he fought in the Palmach. He was among the founders of Kibbutz Tzora, near Jerusalem. Yair Tauman ( he, יאיר טאומן; born January 20, 1948) is a Professor of Economics at State University of New York, Stony Brook and the Director of the Stony Brook Center for Game Theory. Professor Yair Sprinzak ( he, יאיר שפרינצק, 8 November 1911 – 6 September 1999) was an Israeli scientist and politician who served as a Knesset for Moledet between 1988 and 1992. Yair Rosenblum ( he, יאיר רוזנבלום; January 6, 1944 – August 27, 1996) was an Israeli composer and arranger. Music career Rosenblum was born in Tel Aviv. He was musical director of the Israel Defense Forces chorus in the 1960s and 1970s. He directed Israel's annual music festivals. He conducted and composed songs for the Israel Defense Forces army and navy ensembles. He is best known for such songs, including ''Shir LaShalom'' (1970). He composed songs for films and television, and worked with a number of bands and choral groups.
