Yadviga Poplavskaya
Yadviga Konstantinovna Poplavskaya ( be, Ядвіга Канстанцінаўна Паплаўская, russian: Ядвига Константиновна Поплавская born 1 May 1949) is a Soviet and Belarusian singer, member of the first ensemble Verasy and a People’s Artist of Belarus (2005). Biography Born into a musical family, her father, choirmaster Konstantin Poplavsky, together with Gennady Tsitovich created Belarusian State Folk Choir. Poplavskaya graduated from Belarusian Conservatory twice - in piano (1972) and separation of composition (1988). In 1971, she was among the founders of the Minsk-based VIA "Verasy". In the ensemble she played keyboards, sung vocals, and wrote arrangements. In 1973, Alexander Tikhanovich came to the ensemble (bass guitar, vocal, trumpet), who later became the husband of Poplavskaya. Lyapis Trubetskoy (russian: Ляпис Трубецкой, be, Ляпіс Трубяцкі) was a Belarusian rock band. It was named after comical hero from Ilya Ilf's and Yevgeny Petrov's novel "The Twelve Chairs", poet and potboiler Nikifor Lyapis, who used pseudonym Trubetskoy. On 17 March 2014 frontman Siarhei Mikhalok announced that the band would be dissolved, on 31 August the band ceased to exist and broke up in two ensembles: Brutto and Trubetskoy. Grass by the Home (russian: Трава у дома, Trava u doma) is a 1983 song by former Soviet and Russian music group Zemlyane. The lyrics were written by Anatoly Poperechny and music by Vladimir Migulya. The song tells about cosmonauts in space, longing for Earth, along with their homes and the grass.
