Lyapis Trubetskoy
Lyapis Trubetskoy (russian: Ляпис Трубецкой, be, Ляпіс Трубяцкі) was a Belarusian rock band. It was named after comical hero from Ilya Ilf's and Yevgeny Petrov's novel "The Twelve Chairs", poet and potboiler Nikifor Lyapis, who used pseudonym Trubetskoy. On 17 March 2014 frontman Siarhei Mikhalok announced that the band would be dissolved, on 31 August the band ceased to exist and broke up in two ensembles: Brutto and Trubetskoy. History Popularity in the 2000s In January 2009 their album ''Manifest'' became "the best album of the year 2008" according to the '' West Records'' top-list and '' The Lenta'' music review. Ilya Arnoldovich Ilf (born Iehiel-Leyb Aryevich Faynzilberg, russian: Иехи́ел-Лейб Арьевич Фа́йнзильберг) ( in Odessa – 13 April 1937, Moscow), was a popular Soviet journalist and writer of Jewish origin who usually worked in collaboration with Yevgeni Petrov during the 1920s and 1930s. Their duo was known simply as Ilf and Petrov. Together they published two popular comedy novels ''The Twelve Chairs'' (1928) and ''The Little Golden Calf'' (1931), as well as a satirical book '' Odnoetazhnaya Amerika'' (often translated as ''Little Golden America'') that documented their journey through the United States between 1935 and 1936. Hair Peace Salon is a power pop band from Minsk, Belarus, influenced by British rock music, British indie rock. Hair Peace Salon's music is distinguished by its use of English lyrics with emotional flow and drastic mood swings in songs. Vopli Vidopliassova ( uk, Воплі Відоплясова ), also shortened to VV (), is a Ukrainian rock band. It was created in 1986 in Kyiv, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union (present-day Ukraine). The leader of the band is singer Oleh Skrypka. Vopli Vidopliasova are the founders of Ukrainian rock-n-roll style and neo-ethnic rock. They first sang Ukrainian rock outside Ukraine.
