Xtreme Latin American Wrestling
Xtreme Latin American Wrestling (XLAW or X-LAW) is a lucha libre professional wrestling promotion based in Mexico, founded in 2001 by wrestling journalist Ernesto Ocampo. The promotion is credited to be the first Hardcore wrestling company in Mexico. The promotion began in an attempt to show the Mexican fans the wrestling style that was practiced during the nineties in foreign promotions like FMW and ECW. The promotion was founded in 2001 and closed in 2005. However, the promotion was restarted in 2009. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. Professional wrestling as a form of theater evolved out of the widespread practice of match fixing among wrestlers in the early 20th century. International Wrestling Association (Puerto Rico)
The International Wrestling Association is a conglomerate of professional wrestling promotions that originated in Puerto Rico and currently operates there and in the state of Florida. Founded in 1999 by promoter Víctor Quiñones (who had also created the unrelated IWA-Japan in 1994) as a novel promotion, it quickly entered an agreement to serve as a development territory for the World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE) that lasted until 2001. During its first decade, IWA grew to rival the long-standing World Wrestling Council (WWC). Toryumon (Último Dragón)
is a professional wrestling promotion that operated in Japan until 2004 and in Mexico, where it's called Toryumon Mexico. The promotion is owned and operated by Yoshihiro Asai, who is best known under the name Último Dragón. Tōryūmon is a coined word that means ''Fighting Dragon Gate''. The word is coined after the homonym that literally means ''climbing up dragon gate'' and means ''gateway to success''. The promotion was originally created to give graduates of the Último Dragón Gym a promotion to gain their initial in-ring experience in, it developed a major following and grew into becoming one of the hottest independent promotions in the country. The Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) was a Mexican ''Lucha Libre'' or professional wrestling promotion based in Naucalpan, Mexico State that operated from 1975 until 1995.
