Xiuyu District
Xiuyu District () is a district of the city of Putian, Fujian, People's Republic of China. The district executive, legislature and judiciary are in Hushi Town (), together with the CPC and PSB branches. History In October 1952, PRC and ROC forces fought over control of Nanri Island in the Battle of Nanri Island. The ROC gained control of the island but later retreated. On February 1, 2002, Putian County was split into Licheng District and Xiuyu District. Around 14:10 UTC (22:10 CST) on August 8, 2015, Typhoon Soudelor made landfall over Xiuyu District as a Category 1-equivalent typhoon. The Weather Channel
The Weather Channel (TWC) is an American pay television channel owned by Weather Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Allen Media Group. The channel's headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia. Launched on May 2, 1982, the channel broadcasts weather forecasts and weather-related news and analysis, along with documentaries and entertainment programming related to weather. Luci Island () (also Loutz Island (Lu-tzʻu, Lucih) and Lusi Island (Lusih, Lu-ssu) () is an uninhabited island southeast of the Asian mainland in Pinghai Town (), Xiuyu District, Putian, Fujian, People's Republic of China (PRC) and north-northwest of Wuciou Township (Ockseu), Kinmen County (Quemoy), Republic of China (Taiwan) which can be seen from the island.
