Luci Island
Luci Island () (also Loutz Island (Lu-tzʻu, Lucih) and Lusi Island (Lusih, Lu-ssu) () is an uninhabited island southeast of the Asian mainland in Pinghai Town (), Xiuyu District, Putian, Fujian, People's Republic of China (PRC) and north-northwest of Wuciou Township (Ockseu), Kinmen County (Quemoy), Republic of China (Taiwan) which can be seen from the island. History In 1991, the island was rented to Hong Kong businessmen to be made into a resort, and a dock and several unfinished buildings were built. In January 2019, notice was given of the navigational hazard of the ship ''Xinhangjun'' () which sunk in the waters near the island. On June 16, 2019, a wind power plant on the island started operation. Economy The sea surrounding the island produces Chinese white shrimp, croceine croaker, ribbonfish, swimming crab and lobster. Taiwan Strait
The Taiwan Strait is a -wide strait separating the island of Taiwan and continental Asia. The strait is part of the South China Sea and connects to the East China Sea to the north. The narrowest part is wide. The Taiwan Strait is itself a subject of international dispute over its political status. Portunidae is a family of crabs which contains the swimming crabs. Description Portunid crabs are characterised by the flattening of the fifth pair of legs into broad paddles, which are used for swimming. Ribbonfish
The ribbonfish are any lampriform fishes in the family Trachipteridae. These pelagic fish are named for their slim, ribbon-like appearance. They are rarely seen alive, as they typically live in deep waters, though are not bottom feeders. ''Larimichthys crocea'', commonly called the large yellow croaker, yellow croaker or croceine croaker, is a species of saltwater fish in the family Sciaenidae, native to the marginal seas of East Asia from western Japan and Korea to the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, Taiwan Strait and northern South China Sea. It generally thrives in temperate coastal waters and often also in brackish estuaries, and is found on muddy-sandy bottoms. Males can reach , but a common size is .
