The Taipei Metro Xinzhuang station is a station on the Zhonghe–Xinlu line located in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. The station opened for service on 5 January 2012. Station overview This two-level, underground station has an island platform. It is located beneath the intersection of Zhongzheng Rd. and Zhonghua Rd., in front of Xinzhuang Junior High School. Xinzhuang District
Xinzhuang District () is a district in the western part of New Taipei in northern Taiwan. It has an area of and a population of 413,443 people (2016). History A former name of the area is ''Pulauan'' (). On 15 January 1980, Xinzhuang was upgraded from an urban township to be a county-administered city of Taipei County. On 25 December 2010, Taipei County was upgraded to New Taipei City, and Xinzhuang City was upgraded to a district. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium
The Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium () is a baseball stadium in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is currently mostly used for CPBL baseball games. The stadium can hold 12,500 people and was opened in 1997. Ground rules Part of the dugouts are covered by retractable roofs. Xinhai Constructed Wetland
The Xinhai Constructed Wetland () is a constructed wetland in Banqiao District, New Taipei, Taiwan. History Through the late 20th century, the banks of Dahan Creek turned into garbage dumps due to the growing population and factories within the area which were not served by proper sewage treatment facilities. During heavy rain, the garbage would obstruct the water flow of the creek. In 1992, the Taipei County Government Environmental Protection Bureau launched a project to relocate the old garbage dumps lining the creek. During the Typhoon Herb in July–August 1996, drifting garbage clogged the creek course causing floods. Afterwards in 2003, three sections of Xinhai Constructed Wetland were constructed. The wetland construction was finished in 2009. Banqiao 435 Art Zone
The Banqiao 435 Art Zone () is an art center in Banqiao District, New Taipei, Taiwan. History The area used to be old housing areas for veterans training. In 2012, the Cultural Affairs Department of New Taipei City Government assumed responsibility for the building which was once used as the job training center by the central government from Banqiao District Office. Architecture The building features a neoclassic architectural style with large open space. At the entrance lies the Zhongzheng Memorial Hall, with facade constructed by the towering and symmetrical Doric columns and carved mountain walls.
