Xiagezhuang Town () is a town located inside of Pinggu District, Beijing, China. It is situated near the alluvial plain of Ju River. The town shares border with Shandongzhuang Town in the north, Nandulehe Town in the east, Xujiatai Village and Duanjialing Town in the south, Donggaocun Town in the southwest, as well as Pinggu Town and Xinggu Subdistrict in the northwest. It was home to 26,185 inhabitants as of 2020. The name Xiagezhuang () refers to Xiagezhuang Village, where the town's government is located. This is a list of township-level divisions of the municipality of Beijing, People's Republic of China (PRC). After province, prefecture, and county-level divisions, township-level divisions constitute the formal fourth-level administrative divisions of the PRC. However, as Beijing is a province-level municipality, the prefecture-level divisions are absent and so county-level divisions are at the second level, and township-level divisions are at the third level of administration. Xinggu Subdistrict
Xinggu Subdistrict () is a subdistrict on the center of Pinggu District, Beijing, China. It shares border with Shandongzhuang Town in the northeast, Xiagezhuang Town in the southeast, Pinggu Town and Binhe Subdistrict in the south, and Wangxinzhuang Town in the northwest. The subdistrict had 61,949 people residing under its administration according to the 2020 census. This subdistrict was created from part of Pinggu Town in 2002, and the name Xinggu literally means “Flourish Grain". Yuyang Area (), or Pinggu Town, is an area and a town situates in the southwest of Pinggu District, Beijing, China. It borders Wangxinzhuang Town and Xinggu Subdistrict to the north, Xiagezhuang Town to the east, Donggaocun Town to the south, Machangying and Daxingzhuang Towns to the west, and surrounds Binhe Subdistrict on three sides. According to the 2020 census, its population was 62,694. The town was named Pinggu () because of its location in a plain surrounded by mountains on the north, east and south. Ju River
The Ju River in North China Plain is a major river in the Beijing and Tianjin vicinities. It is a part of Hai River's watershed system. In 354 BCE (Warring States period of Zhou dynasty), State of Yan defeated State of Qi in a battle by this river. In Han dynasty, the original channel of Ju River was widened by Emperor Xian so that it became a navigable river and a major military supply line to the northeast frontier. An alluvial plain is a largely flat landform created by the deposition of sediment over a long period of time by one or more rivers coming from highland regions, from which alluvial soil forms. A floodplain is part of the process, being the smaller area over which the rivers flood at a particular period of time, whereas the alluvial plain is the larger area representing the region over which the floodplains have shifted over geological time.
