X61 (railcar)
X61 is the name of the Alstom Coradia Nordic railcar which was ordered by Skånetrafiken, the regional public transport organisation in Scania (Sweden), operate 99 X61 trainsets, of which the first batch of 49 trainsets were delivered 2009–2011. An additional 20 trainsets was ordered in 2011 and in 2017 further 30 trainsets was ordered. The X61 is based on the SL X60, but with four cars per set instead of six and a total length of , and are operated both as single trainsets and as longer trains made up of two connected four-car trainsets (and it is also possible to use three connected four-car trainsets to get even longer trains). The interior of the X61 is better suited for the often longer distances covered by regional trains, with toilets (which the SL X60 commuter trains do not have) and more comfortable seats. The Alstom Coradia is a family of diesel and electric multiple units for intercity and regional service manufactured by Alstom, with variants operating in Europe, North America, and Africa. Design The Coradia is a family of high-performance rolling stock, manufactured by Alstom Transport and offered in various configurations to suit the varying requirements of operators. It is available in both diesel multiple unit (DMU) and an electric multiple unit (EMU) configurations; a high-density double-decker model, the ''Coradia Duplex'', has also been developed. The Coradia uses Alstom's own Onix igBT traction system, which is promoted as providing smooth acceleration and energy conservation facilities. Skånetrafiken
Skånetrafiken is the regional public transit district in Skåne län, in the south of Sweden. Skånetrafiken was founded in 1999 when the two counties Kristianstads län and Malmöhus län were merged into one region, causing the two respective transport authorities for each previous county to be amalgamated. Presently, Skånetrafiken is a part of the regional government of Region Skåne. The main office is located in Hässleholm with a second office in Lund. The managing director of Skånetrafiken is Magnus Hedin. Scania
Scania, also known by its native name of Skåne (, ), is the southernmost of the historical provinces (''landskap'') of Sweden. SL X60
X60 is the designation of Storstockholms Lokaltrafik's (SL) Coradia Nordic model commuter trains which replaced all the older commuter trainsets between 2006 and 2017. They are electric multiple units manufactured by the French manufacturer Alstom at their plant in Salzgitter, Germany. Background The original cars for the Stockholm commuter rail service, called X1, were delivered between 1967 and 1975. A batch of new cars, designated X10, were delivered between 1983 and 1993. These two sets of cars made up the backbone of the fleet from 1967 until 2005. As time went on and passengers demanded more comfortable travel and more features, SL came to realize that it was time to replace the older stock completely. Västtrafik is the agency responsible for public transport services involving buses, ferries, trains, and the Gothenburg tram network in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden (plus Kungsbacka Municipality). It was established with the Västra Götaland County on 1 January 1998. Until 31 December 2011 the ownership was shared equally between the Västra Götaland Regional Council and the 49 municipalities in the region, from 1 January 2012 the county council is the sole owner.
