Xylotymvou
Xylotymbou ( el, Ξυλοτύμπου [] or ) is a small town in Larnaca District in south-eastern Cyprus. It is one of the four Cyprus#Exclaves and enclaves, enclaves surrounded by the Eastern Sovereign Base Area of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, a British Overseas Territory, administered as a Sovereign Base Area. The others are the village of Ormidhia and Dhekelia Power Station. It is administered by the internationally recognized government of Cyprus, the Republic of Cyprus. Until 1917, Xylotymbou belonged administratively to Famagusta District and since then it belongs in Larnaca District. It is located in the middle of Makrasyka, Achna, Ormidia, Dhekelia, Pyla, and Pergamos. It is a new village. Until 1821, there were no residents. The Hadjiyiorkis was one of the first inhabitants of the village. When he was married in 1840, the village had only seven houses. In the old days, the village must have been inhabited again. Kimonas Xylotympou
Kimonas Xylotympou was a Cyprus, Cypriot association football club based in Xylotympou, located in the Larnaca District. Its stadium is the Xylotymvou Municipality Stadium. Ormideia ( el, Ορμήδεια []), sometimes also spelled ''Ormidhia'', is a village in Larnaca District in south-eastern Cyprus. Luigi Palma Di Cesnola
Luigi Palma di Cesnola (July 29, 1832 – November 20, 1904), an Italian-American soldier, diplomat and amateur archaeologist, was born in Rivarolo Canavese, near Turin. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the American Civil War. He was United States consul at Larnaca in Cyprus (1865–1877) and first Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (1879–1904). Pyla
Pyla (; ) is a village in Larnaca District, Cyprus. It is one of only four villages located within the United Nations Buffer Zone, the other three being Athienou, Troulloi and Deneia. Pyla is located in the eastern part of the island, adjacent to the British Sovereign Base Area of Dhekelia. From a legal point of view, it is administered as all other areas controlled by the government of the Republic of Cyprus, but policed by UN peacekeepers. Dhekelia Cantonment
Dhekelia Cantonment ( el, Φρουρά Δεκέλεια, tr, Dikelya Cantonment) is a military base in Akrotiri and Dhekelia, a British Overseas Territory on the island of Cyprus, administered as the Sovereign Base Areas. It is located in the Eastern Sovereign Base Area, one of the two areas which comprise the territory. Dhekelia Power Station
Dhekelia Power Station is one of three power plants belonging to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. It is located approximately east of the city of Larnaca and it has a capacity of 460  MW. History The original plant was the first of the company, which started building it in the mid-1950s. Completed, it consisted of seven steam turbo generators with a total capacity of 84 MW. As the machinery grew old and demand rose steadily, a new plant was built next to the old. Built in five phases, the current power plant consists of six steam turbines, each of a capacity of 60 MW and six diesel engines of approximately 17 MW each. All boilers burn heavy fuel oil and were built by Waagner-Biro. The first two turbines and generators were supplied by Siemens and came online in 1982 and 1983.
