Xu Yong (historian)

Xu Yong (general)
Xu Yong (; born April 1959) is a lieutenant general (''zhong jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army, who was Commander of the Tibet Military District from 2013 to 2019. Biography Xu Yong was born in 1959 in Baoji, Shaanxi Province. He holds a master's degree from PLA National Defence University. Xu began his career as a military scout, and fought in the Sino-Vietnamese War in 1979. He rose through the ranks to become battalion commander, division commander, corps-level chief of staff, and then commander of the 13th Group Army in 2008. He attained the rank of major general in 2007. After the Great Sichuan earthquake occurred in May 2008, Xu was the first general to arrive at the epicenter Yingxiu with his soldiers to join the rescue mission. Eric Xu Yong (; born 1964) is a Chinese entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is best known as co-founder of Baidu, the largest Chinese search engine. Dr. Xu is founder and chairman of Yifang Capital, an investment holding company engaged in venture capital investments and asset management. Xu Yong (; born March 30, 1989) is a former Chinese professional basketball player born in Shanghai, China. He last played for the Shanghai Dongfang Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. Xu Yong was often considered as one of China's major basketball talents, third only to Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian. After several dominating performances in the Chinese Basketball Association. 798 Art Zone (), or Dashanzi Art District, is a complex of 50-year-old decommissioned military factory buildings boasting a unique architectural style that houses a thriving artistic community in Dashanzi, Chaoyang District, Beijing. The area is often called the 798 Art District or Factory 798 although technically, Factory #798 is only one of several structures inside the complex formerly known as 718 Joint Factory. The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC, zh, 中国人民政治协商会议), also known as the People's PCC (, ) or simply the PCC (), is a political advisory body in the People's Republic of China and a central part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s United Front system. Its members advise and put proposals for political and social issues to government bodies. However, the CPPCC is a body without real legislative power. While consultation does take place, it is supervised and directed by the CCP.
