Xiurenbagrus
''Xiurenbagrus'' is a genus of torrent catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Amblycipitidae. It includes three species. Taxonomy ''X. xiurenensis'' was first described in 1981 as ''Liobagrus xiurenensis''. However, it was realized that ''Liobagrus'' would not be monophyletic with the inclusion of this species, so ''Xiurenbagrus'' was erected. The genera ''Amblyceps'' and ''Liobagrus'' are sister group pair that is, in turn, sister to ''Xiurenbagrus''. Species * '' Xiurenbagrus dorsalis'' Hui, Yang & Zheng, 2014.Xiu, L-H, J Yang & H-F Zheng, 2014. An extraordinary new blind catfish, Xiurenbagrus dorsalis (Teleostei: Siluriformes: Amblycipitidae), from Guangxi, China. Zootaxa 3835: 376–380 * '' Xiurenbagrus gigas'' Zhao, Lan & Zhang, 2004 * '' Xiurenbagrus xiurenensis'' Yue, 1981 Distribution ''X. gigas'' is known only from the Hongshuihe River which belongs to the Xijiang River, the largest tributary of the Pearl River basin in China. Hongshuihe River
The Hongshui River is a major river in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Southern China. It is one of the main rivers in the basin of the Xi River, which in its turn is one of the main tributaries of the Pearl River. Because it flows through the red rock series area, the river is reddish brown, hence the name ''Hongshui River'' (). Conventionally, the Hongshui River is formed by the merging of the Beipan and Nanpan Rivers (Beipanjiang and Nanpanjiang, i.e., the Northern and Southern Pan Rivers) at the Guizhou-Guangxi border. From there, it flows in the general southeastern direction. In Laibin Prefecture in central Guangxi the Hongshui merges with the Liu River that comes from the north, forming the Qian River, which continues to the east toward, eventually, the Xi River. The Hongshui has 10 large dams on it, that provide electric power and flood control. According to the '' Beijing Review'' the Hongshui River had 300 shoals that interfered with navigating the riv ...

Xijiang River
The Xi River (; ) or Si-Kiang is the western tributary of the Pearl River in southern China. It is formed by the confluence of the Gui and Xun Rivers in Wuzhou, Guangxi. It originates from the eastern foot of the Maxiong Mountain in Qujing City, Yunnan Province. Then it flows east through Guangdong, and enters the Pearl River Delta just east of the Lingyang Gorge in Zhaoqing. The main branch of the Xi River flows southeast through the delta entering the South China Sea at Modao Men, just west of Macau. The major cities along the Xi include Wuzhou, Zhaoqing, and Jiangmen. The other two main tributaries of Pearl River are the Dong River (literally, the East River) and Bei River (the Northern River). Other transliterations of the river's name include Hsi River and Hsi Chiang. As for other functions, it plays a vital role in carbon storage and transport in Southern China. The Xi River is facing some ecological challenges such as drought, invasive species, and pollution. ...

Tributary
A tributary, or affluent, is a stream or river that flows into a larger stream or main stem (or parent) river or a lake. A tributary does not flow directly into a sea or ocean. Tributaries and the main stem river drain the surrounding drainage basin of its surface water and groundwater, leading the water out into an ocean. The Irtysh is a chief tributary of the Ob river and is also the longest tributary river in the world with a length of . The Madeira River is the largest tributary river by volume in the world with an average discharge of . A confluence, where two or more bodies of water meet, usually refers to the joining of tributaries. The opposite to a tributary is a distributary, a river or stream that branches off from and flows away from the main stream."opposite to a tributary"

Lijiang River
The Li River or Li Jiang () is the name for the upper reaches of the Gui River in northwestern Guangxi, China. It is part of the Xijiang River system in the Pearl River Basin. The river flows from Xing'an County to Pingle County, where the karst mountains and river sights highlight the famous Li River cruise. Background The Li River originates in the Mao'er Mountains in Xing'an County and flows in the general southern direction through Guilin, Yangshuo and Pingle. In Pingle the Li River merges with the Lipu River and the Gongcheng River and continues south as the Gui River, which falls into the Xi Jiang, the western tributary of the Pearl River, in Wuzhou. The upper course of the Li River is connected by the ancient Lingqu Canal with the Xiang River, which flows north into the Yangtze; this in the past made the Li and Gui Rivers part of a highly important waterway connecting the Yangtze Valley with the Pearl River Delta. The course of the Li and Gui Rivers is flanked by g ...

Pearl River (China)
The Pearl River, also known by its Chinese name Zhujiang or Zhu Jiang in Mandarin pinyin or Chu Kiang and formerly often known as the , is an extensive river system in southern China. The name "Pearl River" is also often used as a catch-all for the watersheds of the Xi ("West"), Bei ("North"), and Dong ("East") rivers of Guangdong. These rivers are all considered tributaries of the Pearl River because they share a common delta, the Pearl River Delta. Measured from the farthest reaches of the Xi River, the Pearl River system is China's third-longest river, after the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, and second largest by volume, after the Yangtze. The Pearl River Basin () drains the majority of Liangguang (Guangdong and Guangxi provinces), as well as parts of Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan and Jiangxi in China; it also drains northern parts of Vietnam's Northeast Cao Bằng and Lạng Sơn provinces. As well as referring to the system as a whole, the Pearl River (Zhu Jiang) nam ...
