Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport
Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport is an airport being built to serve the city of Xiamen in Fujian Province, China. Once completed (estimated in 2025), it will replace the existing Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport as the city's main airport. The airport is located on the Dadeng Island in Xiang'an District, facing Nan'an, Quanzhou to the north. It is from Kinmen in the Republic of China, from central Xiamen, from downtown Quanzhou, and from Zhangzhou. Facilities The airport will have three runways, which are 3,800 meters long, respectively (class 4F). It will have a terminal building designed in the ''Dacuo'' () architectural style native to the Minnan region. It is projected to serve 62 million passengers and 1 million tons of cargo annually by 2030, and it will be expanded to serve 85 million passengers and 2 million tons of cargo annually by 2040. Xiamen ( , ; ), also known as Amoy (, from Hokkien pronunciation ), is a sub-provincial city in southeastern Fujian, People's Republic of China, beside the Taiwan Strait. It is divided into six districts: Huli, Siming, Jimei, Tong'an, Haicang, and Xiang'an. Kinmen Shangyi Airport () is a civilian airport serving Kinmen, Fujian Province, Republic of China, Fujian Province, Taiwan, Republic of China. It is located at Jinhu, Kinmen, Jinhu Township of Kinmen County. It was authorized to become a C-class airport under the direct supervision of the Civil Aeronautics Administration (Republic of China), Civil Aeronautics Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the Executive Yuan. It serves an average of 1.2 million passengers every year. Xiamen Metro, officially branded as AMTR (Amoy Transit Rail, formerly Across Mass Transit Railway), is a rapid transit system serving Xiamen, Fujian, China. Line 1 began operation on 31 December 2017. Line 2 began operation on 25 December 2019. Line 3 began operation on 25 June 2021.
