XXYYXX
Marcel Everett (born October 31, 1995), better known as XXYYXX, is an electronic musician and record producer from Orlando, Florida, formerly signed to the label Relief in Abstract. His style is likened to Clams Casino, Zomby, Burial, James Blake and The Weeknd. His musical influences include Lapalux, Star Slinger, Disclosure and Shlohmo. Career Everett released the 'Still Sound' mixtape in 2011. The next year at 16 years of age he would release his self-titled album, which included the hit 'About You' and gained him prominence within the indie music culture in late 2013. Everett has remixed for artists such as Tinashe and Usher. In 2014, he created the song "What We Want" for the video game ''Grand Theft Auto V''. This song was included for the expanded soundtrack that was a part of the re-release of the game on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 systems. ''Reverie'' is the second mixtape by American recording artist Tinashe, first released September 6, 2012 via her official website. The mixtape followed the release of her debut mixtape ''In Case We Die'' which came after a four-year stint as lead singer of dance-pop group The Stunners and her array of non-album singles, including a collaboration with producers OFM, "Artificial People", in 2011. As executive producer, Tinashe enlisted a variety of musical producers to work with her on the mixtape, including Wes Tarte, BMarz the Producer , Nez & Rio, Best Kept Secret, B. SALES (stylized in all caps) is an American guitar-based indie pop band from Orlando, Florida. The band's members are musicians Lauren Morgan and Jordan Shih. They are joined on tour by Malcolm Martin, who serves as the live drummer and percussionist. In July 2014, the band was named "Ones to Watch" for the second half of 2014 by The Hype Machine as it being one of the most blogged artists yet to release a long play album. The band is independent and self-released their first 7" single ''Renee/Tonka Time'' on December 1, 2013, through the music platform Bandcamp. Relief in Abstract is an independent music and arts label based in Orlando, Florida. The label was started as a musical collective in 2011 by Lex Johnson and Jered Dowden while they were in high school, originally as a platform to promote their friends' music. XXYYXX quickly gathered a strong online following and helped to elevate the status of the label overall. The label's brand and website were designed by Guillermo Casanova. Noise Pop Festival is an annual week-long music and arts festival that takes place throughout the San Francisco Bay Area produced by Noise Pop. From 1993 to 2020, and then resuming in 2022, Noise Pop Festival has provided exposure to some emerging artists, many of which have gone on to widespread acclaim, including The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes and Yoko Ono.
