XM Radio
XM Satellite Radio (XM) was one of the three satellite radio (SDARS) and online radio services in the United States and Canada, operated by Sirius XM, Sirius XM Holdings. It provided pay-for-service radio, analogous to subscription cable television. Its service included 73 different music channels, 39 news, sports, talk and entertainment channels, 21 regional traffic and weather channels, and 23 Sports commentator, play-by-play sports channels. XM channels were identified by Arbitron with the label "XM" (e.g., "XM32" for "The Bridge (Sirius XM), The Bridge"). The company had its origins in the 1988 formation of the American Mobile Satellite Corporation (AMSC), a consortium of several organizations originally dedicated to satellite broadcasting of telephone, fax, and data signals. Sirius XM Weather & Emergency
Sirius XM Weather & Emergency was a free satellite radio channel dedicated to providing critical, updated information before, during and after natural disasters, weather emergencies and other hazardous incidents as well as AMBER Alerts to listeners across North America. The channel was also affiliated with The Weather Channel. It was normally a low bitrate channel, but bitrate was raised in case of widespread emergencies. The channel number, 247 on XM, is a reference to the term 24/7, the old name of the channel XM Emergency Alert. As a promotional channel, it was available from any XM or Sirius radio without a subscription (which is required by law as part of the Emergency Alert System, which they are required to take part in). ESPN Xtra
ESPN Xtra is a satellite radio station that carries sports talk programming produced by ESPN. The channel was originally on XM 141, but is now broadcast on Sirius XM Radio channel 81. In February 2008, three shows from local ESPN Radio owned-and-operated stations were added to the new ESPN Xtra lineup, including ''The Michael Kay Show'', and ''The Max Kellerman Show'', both from WEPN, and ''Galloway and Company'' from KESN (on a 4-hour delay). Bill Simmons's ''The B.S. Report'' podcast from ESPN.com also aired on the new channel. Calendrier Sportif was a 24-hour, French-language sports information radio station, which airs on XM Satellite Radio. On November 12, 2008, Calendrier Sportif was moved from channel 246 to channel 97. Programming Calendrier Sportif features schedules on the various sporting events played on XM Radio.
