History XHPFRT was awarded in the IFT-4 radio auction of 2017 and signed on in January 2019. The station's launch returned local radio to El Fuerte after a 34-year absence. The prior local station in El Fuerte, XEORF, relocated its studios to Los Mochis in 1985, though the transmitter remained in El Fuerte. XHORF-FM
XHORF-FM is a radio station on 99.7 FM in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. It is owned by Grupo Radio Centro and carries its Planeta pop format. History XEORF-AM 950 received its concession on December 12, 1969. The 4,000-watt station has always broadcast from the El Fuerte/Mochicahui area, and for the first 15 years of its existence, it was the main radio station for El Fuerte, Choix and the surrounding areas. In 1985, the del Bosque family relocated XEORF's studios to Los Mochis, leaving the town without a local radio station until XHPFRT-FM signed on in January 2019. XHMSL-FM is an FM radio station located in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, broadcasting on 101.3 MHz. The station was launched on July 1, 1984, two days after obtaining its concession, making it the first FM station in the city. The original concessionaire was Sandra Luz Pérez Muñoz, part of the Pérez Muñoz family that owns Radiosistema del Noroeste. Its current format is a variety of Spanish and English pop music, and also local news. El Fuerte () is a city and El Fuerte Municipality its surrounding municipality in the northwestern Mexican state of Sinaloa. The city population reported in the 2010 census was 12,566 people. El Fuerte, meaning "The Fort", was named a Pueblo Mágico ("Magical Town") in 2009, due to its many attractions, its historical importance and its appealing small-town colonial aura.
