XHORF-FM
XHORF-FM is a radio station on 99.7 FM in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. It is owned by Grupo Radio Centro and carries its Planeta pop format. History XEORF-AM 950 received its concession on December 12, 1969. The 4,000-watt station has always broadcast from the El Fuerte/Mochicahui area, and for the first 15 years of its existence, it was the main radio station for El Fuerte, Choix and the surrounding areas. In 1985, the del Bosque family relocated XEORF's studios to Los Mochis, leaving the town without a local radio station until XHPFRT-FM signed on in January 2019. Grupo Radio Centro is a Mexico City-based owner and operator of radio stations. It owns 30 radio stations in Mexico and the United States, including 8 radio stations in Mexico City. History Radio Centro's origins date to 1946, when Francisco Aguirre Jiménez formed the Cadena Radio Continental to operate XEQR-AM 1030 and new station XERC-AM 790 in Mexico City. Organización Radio Centro was formed in 1952, and the current company was founded in 1971. In 1965, it founded OIR (Organización Impulsora de la Radio), which syndicates Radio Centro's formats to stations across Mexico. Its non-Mexico City business extended further in the 1980s, when Radio Centro began selling its formats outside the United States (in 1983) and created Cadena Radio Centro (in 1986) to manage this portion of its operations. XHECU-FM
XHECU-FM is a radio station on 91.7 FM in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. It is owned by Grupo Radio Centro and is known as La Rancherita. History XECU-AM 1470 received its concession on January 6, 1951. The 250-watt station was owned by Luis Pérez Gómez until 1977, when it was acquired by Radio Local de la Provincia, S.A. de C.V. The current concessionaire picked up XECU in 1994 and moved it to 1450 kHz, with a power of 10 kW day and 1 kW night, by way of two technical authorizations in 1997 and 1999. In 2011, XECU moved to FM as XHECU-FM 91.7. In May 2016, Grupo Radio México exited Los Mochis and transferred operation of its stations to Radiorama. All of GRM's former stations transitioned to Radiorama formats, including XHECU, which had previously carried the La Z format. XHCW-FM is a radio station on 96.5 FM in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. It is owned by Grupo Radio Centro and is known as La Z with a grupera format. History XECW-AM 1340 received its concession on November 3, 1958. The 1,000-watt station was owned by Luis Pérez Gómez until 1977, when it was acquired by Radio del Comercio Local de la Provincia, S.A. de C.V. XHPNK-FM
XHPNK-FM is a radio station on 103.5 FM in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. It is owned by Grupo Radio Centro and is known as Radio Variedades with a romantic format. History XEPNK-AM 880 received its concession on November 19, 1980. The 5,000-watt daytimer was owned by Felipe García de León. In the mid-1980s, García de León traded XEPNK to Grupo OIR in exchange for XEOS and XEHX radio in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora. The concession transferred to Radio y Televisión de Sinaloa in 1993, around which time XEPNK boosted its power to 10,000 watts day and 2,000 night. In 2011, XEPNK moved to FM as XHPNK-FM 103.5. Los Mochis () is a coastal city in northern Sinaloa, Mexico. It serves as the municipal seat of the municipality of Ahome. As of the 2010 census, the population was 362,613, which was 61 percent of the municipality's population. Los Mochis is the western terminus of the Chihuahua-Pacific Railroad (El Chepe), which passes through the scenic Copper Canyon. This railway was originally conceived by Albert K. Owen and approved by President Porfirio Díaz as a trade route linking the cattle markets in Kansas City with the nearest port on the Pacific Ocean, Topolobampo.
