XHOPE-FM
XHOPE-FM 89.7 is a radio station in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. It carries the national Exa FM format from MVS Radio. History XEOPE received its first concession in March 1945. Then known as XETK-AM, it broadcast on 630 kHz with 1,000 watts day and 250 watts night (later increased to 500). In 1972, Oscar Pérez Escobosa bought XETK along with XESA-AM in Culiacán. He already owned XERJ-AM in Mazatlán, which had begun operations in 1940, and he also founded XHMZ-TV Televisa Regional is a unit of Grupo Televisa which owns and operates television stations across Mexico. The stations rebroadcast programming from its subsidiary TelevisaUnivision's other networks, and they engage in the local production of newsca ... channel 7. Pérez founded Grupo Promomedios, which continues to own the rechristened XEOPE/XHOPE (named in his honor) as well as the FM successors to those stations. XHERJ-FM
XHERJ-FM is a radio station on 105.1 FM in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. It is owned by Promomedios and is known as La Nueva RJ. History XERJ-AM 1320 received its concession on January 10, 1940. It was owned by Oscar Pérez Escobosa, and by the 1960s, XERJ, which had been transferred to Radio Mazatlán, S.A. in 1958, broadcast with 5,000 watts day and 500 night—a power level it would retain for decades. XERJ migrated to FM in 2010 as XHERJ-FM 107.5. As part of the 2017 renewal of XHERJ's concession, it moved to 105.1 MHz on July 8, 2018 in order to clear 106-108 MHz as much as possible for community and indigenous radio stations.
