XHMIX-FM is a commercial radio station located in La Rumorosa, Baja California, Mexico, broadcasting to the Imperial Valley, California area of the United States on 98.3 FM. XHMIX airs a Contemporary hit radio music format branded as "Power 98 Jams". History The 98.3 frequency in Rumorosa was put out for bid in 1992 as XHRBN-FM. Francisco Javier Fimbres Durazo, who already ran XEKT 1390 AM in Tecate, won the concession and built the station, quickly changing the callsign to XHFJ-FM for his initials. During this time, Fimbres operated his stations in association with Cadena Baja California, which owned XEMBC-AM 1190 XEWV-AM, & XEWV-FM XEWV-FM is a radio station in Mexicali, Baja California, broadcasting on 106.7 MHz. XHKT-FM
XHKT-FM is a radio station in Tecate, Baja California. It broadcasts on 88.5 FM The following radio stations broadcast on FM frequency 88.5 MHz: Argentina * Amiga in Rosario, Santa Fe * Ciudad 88.5 in Bella Vista, Corrientes * Fiesta 88.5 in 9 de Julio, Buenos Aire* FM Capital in Neuquén * FM Municipal in E ... with a regional Mexican format as "La Super KT". History XEKT came to air on September 13, 1954. It was owned by Francisco Acuña Félix and broadcast on 1380 kHz with 250 watts during the day and 150 watts at night. In 1964, XEKT was sold to Martín Herrera Robles. After he died, XEKT was transferred to his widow, Hortensia Vázquez Vda. de Herrera, in 1977. Radio Cuchuma bought XEKT in 1980. In the 1990s, XEKT moved from 1380 to 1390 kHz in order to raise power to 5,000 watts during the day. It migrated to FM in 2011. XEKT-AM on 1390 kHz was shut down for good in 2016. La Rumorosa
La Rumorosa is a town in the municipality of Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. It has a population of 1,836 inhabitants. It lies on the road between Mexicali and Tecate, and it is directly across the international border from Jacumba Hot Springs, California. However, no official border crossing exists; the nearest official crossing is in Tecate. The La Rumorosa area contains Native American cave paintings, which are the primary tourist draw. Geographic location The town is located at 32º32'06" N by 116º03'00" W; and has an altitude of 1278 meters. Demographics The 1980 census recorded a population of 531 inhabitants. In 1990, it rose to 1387 inhabitants, and, in 1995 there was a decrease to 1246 inhabitants. During the 2000 census, the population stood at 2,033 inhabitants.
