XEX-FM
XEX-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 101.7 MHz from atop the World Trade Center Mexico City, XEX-FM broadcasts the contemporary hit radio format taken from the Los 40 network. The vast majority of the songs played on-air are in English. History XEX-FM came to air on October 1, 1975, becoming the third FM station in the Radiópolis/Televisa Radio system. It began with a pop music format as "Stereo 102", but most of its history has been marked by constantly changing formats. In the early 1980s it was "Radio Romántica", then "Estelar FM" (both with romantic music), followed in 1988 by a return to pop music in English and Spanish as "Estéreo 102" and later "Yo 102"; this was when the station began to see ratings success. Radiópolis (incorporated as Sistemas Radiópolis, S.A. de C.V.) is a Mexican radio broadcast company that owns AM and FM radio stations in Mexico and syndicates music and talk formats. Los 40 (The 40, stylized as LOS40 and formerly ''Los 40 Principales'', es, Los Cuarenta) is a Top 40 music radio network and radio station brand in many Spanish-speaking countries from PRISA Radio. The station has its origins as a music show at Radio Madrid, today Cadena SER in 1966, where the 40 Principales chart was born, then evolved into a standalone radio station in 1979. XEQ-FM
XEQ-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 92.9 FM, XEQ-FM broadcasts grupera music under the name "La Ke Buena" and is the flagship of a network of stations with the same branding and format. The programming on XEQ-FM is also simulcast on Mexico City AM radio station 940 XEQ-AM. History The original concession for XEQ-FM was awarded on April 16, 1957 to Radio Mexicana del Centro, S.A. de C.V. In 1978, XEQ-FM became the first tropical music station in Mexico City under the name "Tropi Q"; others later followed. The format moved to AM in 1993, when XEQ-FM picked up its current name and format of grupera music. The grupera format had previously been on XEX-AM, where it was known as "La Super X". XEW-AM is a radio station in Mexico City, Mexico, broadcasting on the AM frequency of 900 kHz; it is branded as ''W Radio''. XEW-AM serves as the originating station for other "W Radio" stations around Mexico that carry some of its programs. The programming on XEW-AM is also simulcast on Mexico City FM radio station 96.9 XEW-FM. History XEW began regular broadcasts at 20:00 CST on September 18, 1930. XEX-AM (730 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station based in Mexico City, Mexico. It carries a sports radio format known as "W Deportes." The station is owned by Radiópolis. XEX is a Class A clear-channel station, powered at 60,000 watts and using a non-directional antenna. The transmitter is on Avenida Rio Bravo, in Los Reyes Acaquilpan, just east of Mexico City. History XEX-AM came to air in 1947 as a 500,000 watt national radio station. The Mexican government built XEX with the transmitter equipment of the former XERA at Villa Acuña, Coahuila, whose 500 kW transmitter was seized, dismantled and shipped to Mexico City. The World Trade Center Mexico City, commonly known by its former name, Hotel de México, is a building complex located in the wealthy neighborhood of Colonia Nápoles in central Mexico City.
