XESFT-AM/XHSFT-FM (branded as La Poderosa) was a radio station in San Fernando, Tamaulipas San Fernando is a municipality and city located in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. History XESFT-AM received its concession on November 7, 1988 and signed on two days later. It was owned by Arnoldo Rodríguez Zermeño. In 1997, Zermeño sold the station to Radiodifusora XESFT, S.A. de C.V., which in turn sold it to its current concessionaire, controlled by Raúl Garza Acosta and Raúl Gregorio Garza Salazar, in 2000. It was authorized to move to FM in 2011. The station's concession expired without renewal on November 6, 2015, and XHSFT signed off in June 2019, leaving the entire municipality of San Fernando without FM radio service and prompting the municipality to buy advertising on a pirate Christian radio station. San Fernando is a municipality and city located in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is about away from Brownsville, Texas, United States. The municipality has a population of 57,220, while the city itself has a population of 29,665. Massacres San Fernando, Tamaulipas is notorious for experiencing two of the largest recorded massacres of the Mexican drug war. The first massacre, known as the 2010 San Fernando massacre, occurred following a gunfight in Tamaulipas between drug cartel gunmen and Mexican authorities, in which three gunmen and a marine were killed. After the authorities patrolled the nearby area, they found a horrifying surprise—72 bodies were found in a remote ranch in Tamaulipas. It was "the biggest single discovery of its kind" in the ongoing drug war.
