XEB-AM (branded as ''La B Grande'') is a radio station on AM frequency 1220 kHz, serving Mexico City and surrounding areas in Mexico. It airs a Spanish language classic contemporary format with music from the 1940s to the 1970s. XEDTL-AM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 660 AM, XEDTL-AM is owned by the Instituto Mexicano de la Radio and broadcasts a citizen-sourced talk and music format under the brand name Radio Ciudadana. History AM station XEDTL-AM began on 820 kHz as XEBZ-AM, with a concession awarded on July 9, 1936 to Sra. Refugio Esparza Vda. de Valezzi. It likely moved to 660 in 1939, when most Mexico City radio stations changed frequencies. It was sold in 1942 to Vocero Mexicano, S.A. XHIMER-FM
XHIMER-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 94.5 FM from a tower on Cerro del Chiquihuite, XHIMER is owned by the Instituto Mexicano de la Radio and broadcasts a classical music format under the brand name Opus 94. History In the 1970s, the Instituto Politécnico Nacional ceded its rights to 94.5 FM to the Secretariat of Public Education so the SEP could move Radio Educación ( XEEP-AM) to FM. However, the money was not available for the SEP to build out the station, and so the proposal was stalled. The Opus format began on 710 AM ( XEMP) in 1983. That same year, 94.5 FM, the last full-power FM frequency available in Mexico City, was put up to attract noncommercial permits. Several groups — the IPN and IMER among them — jockeyed for the station, with IMER winning. Opus moved to the new 94.5 FM on July 4, 1986, when 50 kW transmissions commenced. XHCAH-FM is a radio station in Cacahoatán, Chiapas. Broadcasting on 89.1 FM, XHCAH-FM is owned by the Instituto Mexicano de la Radio and broadcasts a music and information format under the name "La Popular". History XECAH-AM 1350 took to the air on September 16, 1987. The location of XECAH was strategic: it was intended as a Mexican alternative to the Guatemalan stations and the Belize-based repeater of Voice of America available in the area. Its format was music, principally local marimba, mixed with public service messages. Some of the information on XECAH was broadcast in the Mam language with the goal of reaching the small communities that could receive 1350 AM. XHOF-FM, also known as Reactor 105.7, is a radio station in Mexico City that plays alternative rock music, and hip hop mainly in English and Spanish. Its broadcast frequency is 105.7 MHz.
