World Trade Center Taichung
The World Trade Center Taichung (WTC Taichung; ) is a World Trade Center in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. History WTC Taichung was established in 1988 by the Importers and Exporters Association of Taichung, Industrial Association of Taichung, Taichung Chamber of Commerce, Importers and Exporters Association of Taiwan, Taichung City Government, Taichung City Council and China External Trade Development Council. At the 1990 World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) General Assembly in São Paulo, Brazil, WTC Taichung became the second WTC in Taiwan after Taipei World Trade Center to join WTCA. Architecture The convention center consists of two exhibition hall. Xitun District
Xitun District or Situn District (, literally "western village") is the second-most populated district of Taichung, Taiwan. It is located on the western side of the city. Once considered part of the countryside, the district has seen rapid growth in recent years with department store and office towers in the redevelopment zone. Taichung City Hall is located in the district. History The original inhabitants of the area were the Pazeh people, who inhabited the Taichung Basin. The first Han settlers arrived in 1701, led by Liao Chao Kong () and Chang Da Jing (). As a result, the Pazeh people were pushed out of the area, and most of them migrated to Puli, Nantou. Many of its prehistory artifacts can be found at the Huilai Monument Archaeology Park. Taichung City Government
The Taichung City Government () is the municipal government of Taichung, Taiwan. History Taichū City Government was established by the Governor-General of Taiwan and the Japanese colonial authorities on 1 October 1920. Following the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China, Taichung had been reconstituted as a provincial city government on 25 October 1945. Taichung City merged with Taichung County to become a special municipality on 25 December 2010. Building The first Taichung city hall, known as Taichung Shiyakusho, was constructed in 1911, when Taiwan was under Japanese rule. It has been turned into a cultural center since 2016. Taiwan External Trade Development Council
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA; ) is a non-profit government co-sponsored trade promotion organization in Taiwan. It was founded in 1970 as China External Trade Development Council (CETRA). However, it changed its English name in January 2004. This was in order to avoid confusion with bodies representing the People's Republic of China. The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) was founded in 1970 by Port Authority executive Guy F. Tozzoli. WTCA is a not-for-profit, non-political association dedicated to the establishment and operation of World Trade Centers (WTCs) as instruments for international trade expansion.
