Wonderland (The Charlatans Album)
''Wonderland'' is the seventh album by British rock band the Charlatans, released on 10 September 2001 through Universal. Following promotional efforts for their sixth studio album ''Us and Us Only'', vocalist Tim Burgess and guitarist Mark Collins wrote new material at the former's house in Los Angeles, California. Cocaine would be an impact on the writing, and later on recording; sessions were held at producer Danny Saber's house studio, Krevorkian's Lab, also in Los Angeles. The band worked with him for seven weeks from October 2000, only completing five tracks, and later went to their own studio, Big Mushroom in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, in early 2001. ''Wonderland'' is a funk-soul and electronica record, evoking the work John Mellencamp, Oasis and Primal Scream. The Charlatans (English Band)
The Charlatans are an English rock band formed in West Midlands, England in 1988. The current line-up comprises lead vocalist Tim Burgess, guitarist Mark Collins, bassist Martin Blunt and keyboardist Tony Rogers. All the band's thirteen studio albums have charted in the top 40 of the UK Albums Chart, three of them being number ones. They have also had 22 top 40 singles and four top 10 entries in the UK Singles Chart, including the hits "The Only One I Know" and "One to Another". Kurt Wagner (musician)
Kurt Wagner (born 1959) is an American musician, and the singer and songwriter of the Nashville-based alternative country band Lambchop. In 2015 he launched an electronic music project named HeCTA. Early life and education Wagner was born in the South — Nashville, Tennessee — to Northerner parents. As a youth, he wore his hair very long, which set him further as an outcast among his peers. He attended art school in Memphis, Tennessee. Career Wagner worked as a carpenter, laying wooden floors both before the success of Lambchop in the 1990s and afterwards. Mark Vincent Collins (born 14 August 1965 in Barton-upon-Irwell, Lancashire) is an English musician, best known as a guitarist of the British alternative rock band The Charlatans. Married in summer 2022 to holly O’Connor, Irish woman from Tipperary. Career Collins attended school with future Oasis guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs. He began his music career in 1986 as guitarist with The Waltones, indie pop band based in Manchester. After the recording of their second album in 1990, drummer Alex Fyans left the group and the band relaunched themselves as Candlestick Park. The band split up a year later. Timothy Allan Burgess (born 30 May 1967) is an English musician, singer-songwriter and record label owner, best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band the Charlatans. Early life Burgess was born in Salford, and grew up in Moulton, near Northwich, Cheshire. Career The Charlatans Burgess was initially the lead singer in The Electric Crayons (named after the psychedelic compilation album ''The Electric Crayon Set'', released on the Bam-Caruso record label), who released one single, "Hip Shake Junkie". Stereophonics
Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band formed in 1992 in the village of Cwmaman in the Cynon Valley, Wales.
