A magazine is a periodical publication, generally published on a regular schedule (often weekly or monthly), containing a variety of content. They are generally financed by advertising, purchase price, prepaid subscriptions, or by a combination of the three. Definition In the technical sense a ''journal'' has continuous pagination throughout a volume. Bitch (magazine)
''Bitch'' was an independent, quarterly alternative magazine published in Portland, Oregon. Its tagline described it as a "feminist response to pop culture", and it was described in 2008 by ''Columbia Journalism Review'' as "a respected journal of cultural discourse". As a feminist publication, it took an intersectional approach. ''Bitch'' was published by the nonprofit feminist media organization ''Bitch Media''. The magazine included analysis of current political events, social, and cultural trends, television shows, movies, books, music, advertising, and artwork. Its print magazine had about 80,000 readers. The magazine's publisher, Kate Lesniak, estimated that it had an online readership of 4.5 million. On April 12, 2022, it was announced that ''Bitch Media'' would cease operations in June 2022. Costume (magazine)
''Costume'' was a Finnish-language monthly women's and fashion magazine published in Helsinki, Finland. It was the Finnish version of the magazine with the same name which is also published in Norway and Denmark. The magazine was in circulation between 2012 and 2014. History and profile ''Costume'' was first published by Bonnier Publishing Oy on 22 August 2012. The magazine was part of the Bonnier Group until February 2014 when it was acquired by Aller Media. Following the transaction its publisher became Aller Media Oy. The magazine was headquartered in Helsinki and published on a monthly basis. The target audience of ''Costume'' was young women in their twenties. The magazine featured articles on fashion, beauty, food, travel and also, covers celebrity interviews. It has also online and mobile editions. Sanna Sierilä served as the editor-in-chief of the magazine. In 2013 ''Costume'' sold 24,009 copies. Closer (magazine)
''Closer'' is a British tabloid magazine founded in 2005 and published by Bauer Consumer Media. A French language version followed shortly afterwards, and an American edition began publication in 2013. Profile ''Closer'' mainly specializes in celebrity news and gossip, real-life stories, fashion and television/entertainment. There is also a French-language version of the magazine published by Mondadori, an Italian media company. The French edition had a circulation of 399,589 copies in 2005. In the spring of 2006, the British parent company East Midlands Allied Press announced that it would separate its French subsidiary, which was eventually acquired in August 2006 by Mondadori for 545 million euros when taking over Emap France. ''Chatelaine'' is an English-language Canadian women's magazine which covers topics from food, style and home décor to politics, health and relationships. ''Chatelaine'' and its French-language version, ''Châtelaine'', are published by St. Joseph Communications. ''Chatelaine'' was first published in March 1928 by Maclean Publishing. ''Candis'' is the magazine of Candis Club, published monthly by Newhall Publishing. It is a membership magazine focusing on health and family living. Regular features include food, gardening, travel and health together with competitions, puzzles, offers and giveaways. History ''Candis'' has its origins in 1962, when its founder, Joseph K. Douglas, created the ''Cancer & Polio Research Fund News Letter'', to provide updates on the fundraising activities of the related charity that he had founded. ''Canadian Living'' is a monthly Canadian lifestyle magazine, which publishes articles relating to food, fashion, crafts, and health and family advice.
