''Chatelaine'' is an English-language Canadian women's magazine which covers topics from food, style and home décor to politics, health and relationships. ''Chatelaine'' and its French-language version, ''Châtelaine'', are published by St. Joseph Communications. ''Chatelaine'' was first published in March 1928 by Maclean Publishing. From 1957 to 1977, ''Chatelaine''s editor was Doris Anderson, under whose tenure the magazine covered women's issues, including the rise of feminism as a social phenomenon. Other recent editors include Mildred Istona, Rona Maynard and Lianne George. The current editor is Maureen Halushak. In 2014, ''Chatelaine'' ranked first in Canada as the largest magazine with a total circulation of 534,294 copies. ''Chatelaine'' is now the fourth largest magazine in Canada with a circulation of 257,000 according to AAM June 2017. Adrienne Clarkson
Adrienne Louise Clarkson (; ; born February 10, 1939) is a British Hong Kong, Hong Kong-born Canadian journalist who served from 1999 to 2005 as Governor General of Canada, the List of Governors General of Canada#Governors General of Canada, 1867–present, 26th since Canadian Confederation. Clarkson arrived in Canada with her family in 1941, as a refugee from Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, Japanese-occupied Hong Kong, and was raised in Ottawa. After receiving a number of university degrees, Clarkson worked as a producer and broadcaster for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and a journalist for various magazines. Citytv is a Canadian television network owned by the Rogers Sports & Media subsidiary of Rogers Communications. Paul Douglas Callow (born c. 1955) is a Canadian serial rapist who was convicted of raping several women in the Toronto area in the mid-1980s. Because of his method of attack (entering his victims' homes through balconies off the ground) and the fact that his identity was unknown, he was called the Balcony Rapist by the popular media. Chantal Petitclerc (born December 15, 1969) is a Canadian wheelchair racer and a Senator from Quebec. Early life At the age of 13, Petitclerc lost the use of both legs in an accident when at a friend's farm, a heavy barn door fell on her, fracturing her spine at the L1-T12 vertebra. Gaston Jacques, a high school physical education teacher, was to have a decisive influence on her life when he taught her to swim for four lunch hours a week throughout high school as she was unable to participate in the gym course. Flora Isabel MacDonald, (June 3, 1926 – July 26, 2015) was a Canadian politician and humanitarian. Canada's first female foreign minister, she was also one of the first women to vie for leadership of a major Canadian political party, the Progressive Conservatives. She became a close ally of Prime Minister Joe Clark, serving in his cabinet from 1979 to 1980, as well as in the cabinet of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney from 1984 to 1988.
