''Without a Woman'' (Italian: ''Senza una donna'') is a 1943 Italian " white-telephones" comedy film directed by Alfredo Guarini and starring Giuseppe Lugo, Silvana Jachino and Umberto Melnati.Chiti & Lancia p.326 The art directors Piero Filippone and Mario Rappini worked on the film's sets. It was shot at Cinecittà in Rome and the Fert Studios of Turin. Location filming took place around Pieve Ligure near Genoa. Synopsis A misogynistic Duke shuts himself up in a castle along with several other men. However their peace is disturbed by the arrival of some stranded female dancers who have missed their train. Alfredo Guarini
Alfredo Guarini (1901–1981) was an Italian screenwriter, film producer and director. Guarini is noted in particular for his management of the career of the Italian actress Isa Miranda, who he eventually married. Guglielmo Barnabò (11 May 1888 – 31 May 1954) was an Italian stage and film actor. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1926 and 1954. Life and career Born in Ancona, Barnabò made his stage debut in 1921 at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, with the Annibale Ninchi's company. Carlo Campanini (5 October 1906 – 20 November 1984), was an Italian actor, singer and comedian. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1939 and 1969.
