Wilsthorpe is a hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the coast just off the A165 road The A165 is a road that links Scarborough and Kingston upon Hull, both in Yorkshire, England. In 2009 the East Riding of Yorkshire Council constructed a new 150 place secure boat compound at Wilsthorpe to replace an existing facility at South Shore, Bridlington. This is a first step in creating an integrated transport facility for Bridlington. As part of the first phase, access to the hamlet was improved by the addition of a roundabout on the A165 (now A1038) which also provided access to a new park and ride facility on South Shore adjacent to the hamlet. Carnaby, East Riding Of Yorkshire
Carnaby is a small village and civil parish on the A614 road in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately south-west of Bridlington town centre. The civil parish is formed by the villages of Carnaby and Haisthorpe and the hamlet of Wilsthorpe. According to the 2011 UK Census, Carnaby parish had a population of 415, an increase on the 2001 UK Census figure of 300. From the mediaeval era until the 19th century Carnaby was part of Dickering Wapentake. Between 1894 and 1974 Carnaby was a part of the Bridlington Rural District, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Between 1974 and 1996 it was part of the Borough of North Wolds (later Borough of East Yorkshire), in the county of Humberside. A165 Road
The A165 is a road that links Scarborough and Kingston upon Hull, both in Yorkshire, England. The road is designated as a Primary Route from its junction with the A64 in Scarborough to its southern terminus in Hull. History The route follows partly that of two of the Turnpikes in the area in the 18th century. In 1767, the Bridlington to White Cross Turnpike was established by Act of Parliament and the modern road follows this old route from Bridlington as far as the junction of current A165 and A1035. The modern road also follows part of the Hull-Preston-Hedon Turnpike that was established in 1745, from the point where it is known as Holderness Road in Hull to the river. Where North Bridge now stands there used to be a ferry to link the Holderness Road to the Hessle and Beverley roads as far back as 1305. Bridlington
Bridlington is a coastal town and a civil parish on the Holderness Coast of the North Sea in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is about north of Hull and east of York. Barmston is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the Holderness coast, overlooking the North Sea and to the east of the A165 road.
