William Perrett
William Perrett (born 1996) is a British male track cyclist who currently rides for Spellman Dublin Port cycling team. He previously rode for HUUB-Wattbike Test Team. Cycling career Perrett became a British team champion after winning the Team Pursuit Championship at the 2020 British National Track Championships. He followed up his first National title by subsequently winning the British National Derny Championships in 2021 and the British National Madison Championships with Mark Stewart in 2022. Perrett won his third national title at the 2023 British Cycling National Track Championships, he won the Points race for the first time. Also in 2023, he secured a bronze medal at the 2023 UEC European Track Championships in the omnium. In 2024, he won the points title again, at the 2024 British Cycling National Track Championships. Nuthall, Nottinghamshire
Nuthall is a village and civil parish located in Nottinghamshire, England, neighbouring Kimberley, Watnall, Cinderhill and Basford. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 6,311. It is part of the borough of Broxtowe. Nuthall is split into two areas, Old Nuthall, which lies between the Nuthall Island roundabout and Kimberley, and New Nuthall, which lies between Bells Lane and Nuthall Island. New Nuthall also includes the Mornington Crescent Estate, a late 1980s/early 1990s exclusive development which borders Strelley and the Hempshill Vale estate and occupies the former site of Assarts Farm. 2023 British Cycling National Track Championships
The 2023 British Cycling National Track Championships were a series of track cycling competitions. The National Track Championships (excluding certain events) were held from 26 to 29 January 2023 at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome in Newport, Wales. They are organised and sanctioned by British Cycling, and are open to British cyclists. Emma Finucane was the star of the Championships after winning four gold medals across the disciplines. The Derny, Omnium, Madison, Tandem and Elimination events take place at various other dates throughout the year. The 2022 British National Track Championships were a series of track cycling competitions. The National Track Championships (excluding certain events) were due to be held from 28 to 30 January 2022 at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome in Newport, Wales. However, following further issues regarding the COVID-19 pandemic the event was rescheduled for 3 March to 6 March. They are organised and sanctioned by British Cycling, and are open to British cyclists. The championships are sponsored by HSBC. The Derny, Omnium, Madison, Tandem and inaugural Elimination events took place at various other dates throughout the year. Mark Stewart (born 25 August 1995) is a Scottish road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Representing Great Britain and Scotland at international competitions, Stewart won the bronze medal at the 2016 UEC European Track Championships in the team pursuit. Career He was announced as part of the team's squad for the 2017 season. In November 2018 it was announced that he would ride for in the 2019 season. Following the travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Stewart based himself in New Zealand, having been in the country to visit his partner Emma Cumming, following the 2020 UCI Track Cycling World Championships held in Germany. Due to this, Stewart competed in both the New Zealand National Track Championships in December 2020, and the New Zealand National Road Championships in February 2021. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250m track. One appeal of indoor track racing was that spectators could be easily controlled, and hence an entrance fee could be charged, making track racing a lucrative sport. Early track races attracted crowds of up to 2,000 people. Indoor tracks also enabled year-round cycling for the first time.
