Wilhelm Wetlesen
Wilhelm Laurits Wetlesen (28 November 1871 – 15 June 1925) was a Norwegian painter and illustrator. He was part of the circle around painter Erik Werenskiold. Biography Wetlesen was born at Sandefjord in Vestfold, Norway. He was the son of Christine Margrethe Christensen and her husband John Eliseus Sanne Wetlesen. He studied art in Kristiania (now Oslo) and in Copenhagen, Denmark. He later became a student at the painting school of Kristian Zahrtmann, studying there in the years 1889, 1890, 1892 and 1894. Zahrtmann became his mentor, and eventually also a good friend. Zahrtmann and Wetlesen went on a total of three study trips to Italy. Wetlesen also traveled to Paris with other painters, and he lived for long periods in the Italian cities of Florence and Rome. Kviteseid is a Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Telemark in the Counties of Norway, county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional region of Upper Telemark and Vest-Telemark. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kviteseid. Frederik Jonas Lucian Bothfield Collett (25 March 1839 – 19 April 1914) was a Norwegian painter, perhaps most associated with his winter pictures from the region around Lillehammer, Norway. Lars Jorde (22 May 1865 – 25 September 1939) was a Norwegian painter and illustrator. Biography He was born at Vang in Hedmark, Norway. He entered the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in 1889. He studied under Gerhard Munthe, Alfred Philippe Roll, Eilif Peterssen and Harriet Backer, and Kristian Zahrtmann. He studied at Paris and in Italy. In 1905, he moved to Lillehammer and in 1912 to a house that Thorvald Erichsen had had built based upon design by Arnstein Arneberg. He lived in Lillehammer until his death in 1939. He provided decorative work at the Vingrom chapel in Lillehammer (1908), the student hall at the Norwegian College of Agriculture in Ås, and made a series of decorations for Granheim Sanatorium in Follebu (1908–27).
