Whobegotyou
Whobegotyou (19 August 2005 - 12 September 2012) was an Australian-bred Thoroughbred racehorse. The horse won nine races, including the Group One (G1) Caulfield Guineas and Yalumba Stakes for $3,115,450 in prize money. He was a chestnut gelding that was foaled on 19 August 2005 and was bred by Lockyer Thoroughbreds. Whobegotyou was by the outstanding racehorse and sire, Street Cry (IRE), who won the Dubai World Cup and is the sire of winners of more than $51 million including, Shocking, Street Sense and Zenyatta. His dam, Temple of Peace was by Carnegie, who won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and is the dam of winners of more than $50 million. She was imported into Australia in 2002 and is the dam of three named other horses, by different sires, which have not started in any black type races. Street Cry
Street Cry (11 March 1998 – 17 September 2014) was a Thoroughbred racehorse, winner of the 2002 Dubai World Cup, the 2002 Stephen Foster Handicap and runner up in the 2002 Whitney Handicap. He was an international shuttle stallion that stood at the Darley Studs in Australia and the US. He is noteworthy for being the sire of one of the greatest racehorses of all time, Winx, who was retired from racing in April 2019 with a world record of 25 Group 1 wins and also won the last 33 races of her career, the longest winning streak for a top-level racehorse in over a century. At her retirement, she was rated by Longines as the best racehorse in the world. He is also the sire of US racing sensation Zenyatta. Owned and bred by Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin Racing, he was by the dual Group One (G1) winner Machiavellian, a son of Mr. Prospector. Caulfield Guineas
The Caulfield Guineas is a Melbourne Racing Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race held over 1600 metres (1 mile) at set weights for three-year-old horses at Caulfield Racecourse, Melbourne, Australia. Total prize money is A$3 million. The race is held annually on the second Saturday in October and forms part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival at Caulfield Racecourse. Shocking (horse)
Shocking is an Australian bred Thoroughbred racehorse, trained by Mark Kavanagh, who won the 149th Melbourne Cup on 3 November 2009 by three-quarters of a length. Pedigree Shocking is by the outstanding sire, Street Cry (Ireland) out of Maria Di Castaglia by Danehill (USA). George Fraser purchased Maria di Castiglia (GB) while she was carrying Shocking in utero at a William Inglis bloodstock sale for $20,000. Fraser later sold the resulting foal, Shocking, at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $45,000 to a local horse broker. After being broken in, he was sold on to Laurence Eales for $64,000 in late 2007. Zenyatta
Zenyatta (foaled April 1, 2004) is a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Breeders' Cup Classic and Breeders' Cup Distaff and 19 of her 20 starts. She was the 2010 American Horse of the Year, and Champion Older Female in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2016. Zenyatta was purchased as a yearling by record producer Jerry Moss and his wife Ann, who named her after the album ''Zenyatta Mondatta'', by the Police, who were signed to A&M Records by Moss. She went into training with John Shirreffs. A late-developing filly, she did not make her first start until late in her three-year-old year, winning a maiden race in November, 2007; this was followed by a win in an allowance race in December. The Might and Power, registered as the Caulfield Stakes is a Melbourne Racing Club Group One, Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race run under weight-for-age conditions, for three-year-olds and upwards, run over a distance of 2,000 metres at Caulfield Racecourse, Melbourne, Australia.
