White Trash
White trash is a derogatory racial and class-related slur used in American English to refer to poor white people, especially in the rural southern United States. The label signifies a social class inside the white population and especially a degraded standard of living. It is used as a way to separate the "noble and hardworking" "good poor" from the lazy, "undisciplined, ungrateful and disgusting" "bad poor". Use of the term provides for middle- and upper-class whites a means of distancing themselves from the poverty and powerlessness of poor whites, who cannot enjoy those privileges. The term has been adopted for people living on the fringes of the social order, who are seen as dangerous because they may be criminal, unpredictable, and without respect for political, legal, or moral authority. Southern Culture On The Skids
Southern Culture on the Skids, also sometimes known as SCOTS, is an American rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Originally a straightforward roots rock band, they became known as a tongue-in-cheek "party band" with an exaggerated "white trash" image and humourous lyrics inspired by the culture of the Southern United States. The band released their debut EP ''Voodoo Beach Party'' in 1984, followed by their self-titled debut album the following year, influenced by blues, psychobilly and rock and roll. After these early releases, the band's line-up shifted due to a perceived lack in direction, and the band reemerged with a new, hard to classify sound, which encompassed Southern rock, swamp rock and surf music. ''White Trash with Money'' is the tenth studio album by American country music artist Toby Keith. It was released on April 11, 2006 by Show Dog Nashville. This was Keith's first album for the label after DreamWorks Records went out of business. The album was distributed by Universal Music Group Nashville, the owner of Keith's catalog up to that point. The album shipped platinum, meaning one million or more units were distributed to outlets ahead of its release. It features 12 tracks, including 3 "Bus songs". ''How Could Hell Be Any Worse?'' is the debut studio album by American punk rock band Bad Religion, released on January 19, 1982 by Epitaph Records. Released almost a year after their self-titled EP, it was financed by a $3,000 loan by guitarist Brett Gurewitz's father. Its success surprised the band when it sold 10,000 copies in under a year. ''How Could Hell Be Any Worse?'' was recorded over two time periods at Track Record Studios in North Hollywood, California, during October–November 1980 and again in January 1981.
