Background In April 2021, Steps announced what was intended to be a deluxe edition of ''What the Future Holds'' would now be released as their seventh studio album, ''What the Future Holds Pt. 2''. Claire Richards described the new record, "we see ''What the Future Holds Pt. 2'' as the perfect companion piece to the original album. Steps (pop Group)
Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian "H" Watkins. Steps were formed in May 1997 and achieved a series of charting singles between 1997 and 2001 including two number-one singles in the UK (one a double A-side), two number-one albums in the UK, 14 consecutive top 5 singles in the UK and a string of hits throughout Europe. The group has sold over 22 million records worldwide in addition to acquiring a BRIT Award nomination in 1999 for Best Newcomer while supporting Britney Spears on tour the same year. When Richards and Watkins departed to form a recording duo, the group disbanded on 26 December 2001. Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Welsh rock band formed in Blackwood in 1986. The band consists of cousins James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Sean Moore (drums, percussion, soundscapes), plus Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics). They form a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. Background and release On 7 September 2020, Steps announced that they would release their sixth album ''What the Future Holds'' on 27 November, preceded by its title track, in addition to embarking on a United Kingdom arena tour in 2021. In a message released online, the group stated "We couldn't keep it a secret any longer!" It is their first album to be released with their new record label based in the United States, BMG. The song "What the Future Holds" premiered on Zoe Ball's ''The Radio 2 Breakfast Show'' on 8 September and was released as the lead single the same day on download and streaming platforms. Mariette Hansson (born 23 January 1983), sometimes credited as MaryJet or simply Mariette, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Peter Boström
Peter Boström (born May 19, 1971) is a Swedish music producer and songwriter. He is also known as Bassflow. Boström wrote his first song at the age of seven. In 1992, at the age of 21, he started Bassflow Productions, a production company near Stockholm, Sweden. As a producer, he worked with a number of well-known Swedish artists including Bosson, Basic Element, Petrus, E-Type, Ola Svensson, Martin Stenmarck, Carola, and Charlotte Perrelli. He also wrote a number of songs for Melodifestivalen performers. In 2008, he signed for peermusic Sweden. Johanna Maria Jansson (born 10 June 1987), better known by her stage name Dotter, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She finished second in Melodifestivalen 2020 with her song "Bulletproof", one point behind The Mamas. Walter Afanasieff (born Vladimir Nikitich Afanasyev; February 10, 1958), formerly nicknamed Baby Love in the 1980s, is an American record producer and songwriter of Russian-Chinese descent. He was a collaborator with Mariah Carey on her first six studio albums. The album is the group's first album in five years since ''Light Up the World'', and their first proper album since ''Buzz'' in 2000. Following two years of planning, recording began in October 2016. The Alias was enlisted to serve as the executive producer for ''Tears on the Dancefloor'' and various songwriters submitted songs for the group to record, including Steve Mac, Ina Wroldsen, TMS and Fiona Bevan.
