Westmount Transit Centre
Woodcroft is a neighbourhood located in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Surrounded by a mixture of residential neighbourhoods and light industrial subdivisions, it is bounded by 118 Avenue to the north, Groat Road to the east, 111 Avenue to the south, and 142 Street to the west. The neighbourhoods is home to Coronation Park and the Telus World of Science. The six residential neighbourhoods adjacent to Woodcroft include Dovercourt to the north, Sherbrooke to the northeast, Inglewood to the east, Westmount to the southeast, North Glenora to the south, and McQueen to the southwest. Huff Bremner Estate and Dominion Industrial are located to the west and northwest. Coliseum Transit Centre
Coliseum station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line. It is located at 78 Street and 118 Avenue, near Northlands Coliseum, and is built on an overpass above 118 Avenue (Alberta Avenue). History The station is one of the original five stations, and opened on April 22, 1978. Although Coliseum was never a terminus of the LRT line, all trains started and ended their runs at Coliseum when the fleet of LRT rail cars was maintained at the Cromdale garage nearby. The fleet is now housed at the D.L. MacDonald Transit Yard, which was completed in December 1983. Station layout The station has a centre loading platform that can accommodate two five-car LRT trains at the same time, with one train on each side of the platform. Castle Downs Transit Centre
Castle Downs is a residential area in the northwest portion of the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. The area was originally to be called Athabasca Downs, but when the city rejected the name, the developer used their second choice: Castle Downs. The names of the communities were based on European castles, and Castle Downs became the first area in Edmonton to be named in a thematic way. According to former Names Committee secretary Nancy Diettrich “The castles were chosen to recognize the different ethnic groups in the area.” It was originally established in 1971 through Edmonton City Council's adoption of the Castle Downs Outline Plan, and then extended northward in 1983 through the adoption of the Caste Downs Extension Area Structure Plan. Calder, Edmonton
Calder is a residential neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The area was originally part of the Hudson's Bay Company reserve and was settled by employees of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. As described below, Calder was originally an independent village incorporated under the name of West Edmonton that was developed to house the workforce at the railway's roundhouse, repair shop and shunt yards. Calder became a part of the City of Edmonton in 1917 in Canada, 1917. The neighbourhood is bounded by 127 Street to the west, 132 Avenue to the north, 113A Street to the east, and 127 Avenue to the south.
