A barangay (; abbreviated as Brgy. or Bgy.), historically referred to as barrio (abbreviated as Bo.), is the smallest administrative division in the Philippines and is the native Filipino term for a village, district, or ward. Taguig (), officially the City of Taguig ( fil, Lungsod ng Taguig), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in Metro Manila, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 886,722 people. Located in the northwestern shores of Laguna de Bay, the city is known for Bonifacio Global City, one of the leading financial centers of the Philippines. Legislative District Of Taguig
The legislative districts of Taguig are the representations of the highly urbanized city of Taguig in the Congress of the Philippines. The city is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress through its lone congressional district. Sangguniang Barangay
The Sangguniang Barangay, also known as the Barangay Council, and formerly as the Rural Council and then the Barrio Council, is the legislative body of a barangay, the lowest form of government in the Philippines. The term is coined from the Tagalog words ''sanggunian'' (literally, "advisory") and ''barangay''. Each council is headed by a barangay captain, and comprises seven members all titled barangay kagawad (barangay councilor), and the chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan, the barangay's youth council, for a total of eight members. All of these officers are elected at large. Arca South is a 74-hectare planned unit development owned by Ayala Land, Inc. located at East Service Road, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig. It was formerly part of Food Terminal Inc. before being sold to Ayala Land. History With the decline of FTI, there have been several attempts over multiple Philippines presidential administrations to sell off part of the property, including a public auction in 2009, but they all failed. In November 2012, the Philippine government announced the sale of the 74 hectares of the 120-hectare property to Ayala Land, Inc. for 24.3 billion Philippine pesos. The Philippine Navy Golf Club is a public golf course and club in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. History The Philippine Navy Golf Club was developed at the site of the former Fort Andres Bonifcacio Military Reservation which covers lands that were formerly inalienable or could not be sold or disposed of through other means. On September 29, 1965, then President Diosdado Macapagal issued Proclamation No. 461 which separated portions of land from the reservation and declared them as part of the AFP Officers' Village and also made the transferred land alienable and disposable except for areas reserved for public or quasi-judicial purposes.
